EQ7 is designed so you can only install it on two computers. You have to uninstall it from one before you can add another. Do not buy used copyright software. No only could be unusable, it may be illegal.

Has anyone else seen this or have any comments? How could anyone sell this so cheap?

You have a Great Eye: It's been removed

babasil 07-08-2011 04:58 AM

This listing has been removed!

kay_in_pa 07-08-2011 05:34 AM

I bought this last night. Despite the red flags that I did notice, I knew that Ebay & PayPal would cover me. I think I'm about the 10th purchaser. So we'll see.

deenatoo 07-08-2011 05:38 AM

That post has been removed....so it was probably illegal.

I hate that for you Nancy, does the software not function OR do you just not know how to use it? There is a big difference. If it isn't functioning EQ will help you. If you don't know how to operate it, there are lessons that you can use either on the EQ site, or even here on the QB. There are lots of us who use it and can help you.

I absolutely LOVE mine, use it almost daily and would buy it all over again, I sure hope you can start to get some use from yours.

mhansen6 07-08-2011 05:52 AM

I just clicked on your link and the ebay listing has been removed. Obviously it was a fake.

Rann 07-08-2011 06:00 AM

ebay will still give you your money back. I just got into it with a featherweight. The guy that sold it said all the right things and when I got it, it was a gutted model. Ebay made him pay me back. Funny thing, he put it back on and listed all the missing parts and some idiot paid more for it than I did. go figure.

Good lord.....don't you wonder sometimes how these people can tie their own shoes???

MaggieLou 07-08-2011 06:23 AM

This ad has been removed from ebay. It was probably an illegal copy.

BettyGee 07-08-2011 06:56 AM

Well apparently it was too good 'cause the listing is gone.

grandma anna 07-08-2011 07:23 AM

I tried to open but it has been removed.

elainecooper 07-08-2011 07:25 AM

Kay, You'll have to keep us updated on your purchase. They sold 12 of them before the listing was removed.

If the listing was removed, then the transactions are gone from the buyer's My ebay lists. Purged.

If it wasn't paid for, then the transaction just disappears. No harm.

If it was paid for, then the buyer has to file a claim. Again, the money will be refunded in full. (They might just have to wait a few of days to file- it depends.)

If the item was received and the buyer is happy with it (unlikely, but it sometimes happens), then, again, no harm.

If the item was received and the buyer is UNhappy with it (unlikely, but it sometimes happens), then, like above, a claim needs to be filed.

elainecooper 07-08-2011 08:34 AM

Wow, so glad I listened to my Mother when she taught me "if it sounds to good to be true, it probably is" lol! I really wanted to hit that "buy now" button yesterday as soon as I found the listing but just couldn't do it.

patski 07-08-2011 08:40 AM

the item has already been pulled

kay_in_pa 07-08-2011 08:51 AM

Yes, I got a notice from Ebay saying the sale was voided.

baskets4daze 07-08-2011 09:28 AM

I too bought a copy of EQ7 and it was on CD. Have had NO problems from it, except not having the time to "play" with it. Mine was from a reputable dealer though. I would be so careful. This sounds "too good to be true"!

Their FB is zero, so it's probably a throwawy ID that they'll dump as soon as the complaints start pouring in about the illegal copies. Only 1 outa 10 will actually complain, so they'll probably sell about 50 before getting kicked off.

It's already been removed. froggyintexas

katcox 07-08-2011 12:33 PM

sylvia77 07-08-2011 01:43 PM

They pulled the ad from E-Bay!

MissJMac 07-08-2011 02:18 PM

There was something wrong with it, I just went to the site a sign is up saying the item has been removed.
Guess that answers the question of whether it's too good to be true LOL

Nanjun 07-08-2011 02:40 PM

That item has been removed

I do have EQ 7 and love it.
I did just look at the link you put on here and according to eBay, that listing has been removed.
It could have been an upgrade. When a new version is coming out, you get an email from EQ asking if you want the upgrade version. That is usually much less than the full version. You do have to be registered as an owner to get this. You may not have been able to to do that with the version that was offered on eBay.
One word about eBay protecting you - it is a BIG hastle to deal with trying to get your money back. Ask me how I know.

rahaube 07-08-2011 06:24 PM

I have not seen EQ7 for $100 anywhere. On most legitimate sites it ran about $189 but a few weeks ago, Quilt in a Day had it for $139. Perhaps what you saw for about $100 was the upgrade to EQ7 for those who have earlier versions.

I know it has been pulled, but I would add, if you buy EQ7 "new" make sure it is the original box, with a serial number (that is on the user manual), and that the software is "factory sealed." You may have an "original" CD, but if it is not factory sealed, the previous owner could have already downloaded the program to his or her computer. That would be the basics of what I would ask in writing via e-mail. Also, I ALWAYS pay with Paypal. It is very easy to get your $$ back if you have problems. We have had to do this twice.

BellaBoo 07-09-2011 05:51 AM

I just installed EQ7 on my laptop. I had to go online to get it downloaded. ? Maybe because I was transferring from one computer to the next. I have it on four computers all registered to me with different licenses numbers.

Agatha 07-09-2011 10:16 AM

Looks like it's been removed.

buttons 07-09-2011 10:52 AM

I just went to this webpage and ebay must have taken it off.

brightstar_202 07-09-2011 12:50 PM

could not tell it had been removed when I looked

You had to download the actual program? Or just the activation? It does go online to activate but as far as I know they don't offer a download of the program itself. I don't see one on the EQ site either. Did you have to use a cd or dvd to install the program?

romanojg 07-11-2011 12:49 PM

I just followed the link and it says the item has been removed

I just bought this a few weeks ago. It comes w/a cd and the logon w/password is in the back. You have to go on line to activate it but that is all. You are allowed to have it activated on up to 2 pcs at one time. If you need to install it on another one you have to deactivate (not uninstall) it on of the others. I put it on both of my laptops because it has lesson tutes on it and so I pull up the lesson tutes on one and work on the other.

tstransky 07-12-2011 03:44 AM

I just checked out that link and the item has been removed.

PrettyCurious 07-12-2011 03:45 AM

We know. It was an illegal copy.

xstitchcchris 07-14-2011 08:45 AM

I do sell on Ebay and...they do pay the seller as soon as they receive the money. Feedback isn't a prerequisite of getting paid.
So, be careful.
