Another example of our American English not making logical sense. The glue is washable, meaning that it will wash out when the quilt is washed. We should correctly say that it is dissolveable in water and will wash away.

Thank you for clarifying that, Tanya. Now I understand what maviskw was trying to say!

I have never tried it, but I was wondering if washing the quilt afterward, would it harm the plumbing. We also have a septic system and would it harm it?

No. Most of the starch we use is made from corn (or potatoes, or rice). Starch is biodegradable and dissolves in water. Safe for septic systems.

TIPS: Scharon Schambers sells the tips on her site.

Does anyone know where to buy the tips for the elmers glue. I have looked at Joann's and Michels. I had great success using Elmer's Shaoron Schamblers's way. I loved her tutorials on youtube

Sharon sells it on her site.

Michael's has tips, but they were in the area with the glass paints (paints used on plates, for example). I imagine they are used for delicate paint work as well as for glue.

So please explain to me how to do this? Just use dots or lines or water it down and spray??? I just spent most of the day pinning a quilt, has to be a better way. HELP!!!

CoyoteMagic explains how she does it on page 6 of this thread. Here is a link to that page:
http://www.quiltingboard.com/main-f1...t180790-6.html

If I am remembering correctly, CoyoteMagic uses fine lines of glue. Someone else has posted about diluting the glue and spraying it on, but there are not many details about that method. It could be worth a try. My concern would be that the spray nozzle would clog quickly, but perhaps it does not.

Yes, Elmer's school glue for piecing and binding only, 505 spray for basting the quilt sandwich only.
I use them both all the time, can't make a block without it.
