Embroidered + dresden

I have 6 blocks that I was going to embroider a pastel stamped flower. I am thinking of making 6 dresden plates in pastel reproduction prints to offset them. I am having trouble visualizing this combination. Ideas? I know, I know
....no quilt police.....just needs ideas from all you talented people. Thanks.

Do one and see how you like it. I think it will be beautiful. Dresden plate and reproduction prints... a winning combination!!

Make your dresden plate blocks the same size as your embroidered blocks and then put sashing between and some borders - and you will have a quilt!

Sounds like a great idea - maybe someone who has the computer quilting software could make a picture of your idea using scanned photos of your fabric - This might help. I always have a problem with visualization. You could make a dresdan block and an embroidered block and set them side by side and see what you think - you wouldnt really be out anything because you could always use the blocks in another quilt. You may consider using pastel blenders for your dresdans to pick up colors in embroidered blocks - I guess it all depends on what blocks you want to stand out more. Then use a small floral as sashing.

Sounds good tome. I am currently doing an applique quilt with tulips so my blank blocks to enlarge the quilt to bed size will have tulips quilted in the blanks to pull it all together.

I'm sure I don't have the fabrics here that you have in mind. But I did this in my EQ... maybe it will help you visualize.
