We were clothes shopping today. Saw several ties, patterns actually, that I thought would look fabulous as quilting material. DH and DDs rolled their eyes and got me away from there. I too am obsessed. Welcome to the club and don't forget to drink the KoolAid.

I know what you mean! My problem is when someone gives the name of a site that has a big sale or is going out of business, I can't not look and then end up buying more fabric!!!
|
This board helped me to realize I am not the only one who feels the way I do about making quilts. The help for others if phenonominal, and the encouragement is great!
|
What I have loearned on this board...
1) Quilters usually own more than one sewing machine...so I bought another one...LOL! 2) If you stay away from this board for too long you might miss something...so check in often 3) There are too many amazing ideas on here 4) You can never have too much fabric in your stash...and if your sewing room looks like a fabric store...all the better for you! LOL! 5) I've learned that there are many addictions in this world...and I am an addict. |
your welcome !! reading this board can become addictive as well !!!
|
lol I have to limit the time I spend on here lurking LOL. So many great ideas, great people, great links. I could go on and on.. but I will go back to my lurking !LOL and look for more great ideas !!

I'm considering setting up a second machine in my "work area" so I'm ready to do more, try more, create more! I have 3 sewing machines, 1 embroidery/sewing machine, 1 longarm quilting machine, and a professional (Toyota) embroidery machine. Welcome to Club Obsession!! I have a Cathedral Windows on the machine, donation lap quilts in another area of the room and am choosing fabrics for a Bargello in another area. Just yesterday I was considering putting each project in a different room so I could travel from one project to the other. It gets sooooooo bad. What would it be like to have a whole house dedicated to our quilting?. That would be awesome! |
So True! I love it here and my UFO pile is getting bigger because I want to try everything!
|
I have to agree with you. My mind never rest from all the potential quilts running through it. But this site is my new friend. I love all the comments and "show and tell". The hints,go to's and
help is only a click away. |
Yes, you are so right! When I worked and not a member I made lots of quilts, now I am retired, I spend lots on time with all my new friends here and get to see magnificent quilts, etc. This is my "fix" for this wonderful life-altering hobby. You all have filled my life with so much joy and wonder.
|
welcome from Ohio. There should be a warning on the board. You will get a lot of help and ideas, so much so it will take over all of your free time. :-) Good luck with trying to balance.
|
glad to help. :)
|
I was wondering about how I can drive the car and quilt at the same time? (grandson is 3 and 1/2 hrs away.)I can't stand to sit still and not be stitching.

I am glad you are here. Just one suggestion. When planning what to join - or more importantly what to leave out, always inclued twice as many minutes, 3 times as much money, and postage. (The extra money is for the fabrics you will see while shopping for any one project. It happens.)
If you have children? Plan your time as if they were all sick, one after the other for weeks on end. HEheheheheheh. I'm glag I'm not the only one hooked on this board and my sewing machine. Gwyn |

You're in the right place, Dandish!
|
Well, I used to think that when I retired, I wouldn't have anything to do. Since starting quilting, I figure I will have enough quilts and ideas to last until Jesus comes! ha. I won't have to wonder what to do with my time.
|
You are welcome! Welcome to the wonderful club of quilting. I have a T shirt that says it all: "I do not suffer from insanity I enjoy every minute of it." I like this board very much because everyone has encouraged me greatly just be reading others and seeing the pics of the quilts. THANKS!!!!!!!

Since I started hanging around this board a couple weeks ago, my once-upon-a-time much beloved hobby has became almost an obsession! I see all the beautiful quilts, BOMs, tips and suggestions, enouragement, support, friendship, laughs, comiseration, creativity, and I just can't help it! I already had a lot of things I wanted to do/try, but that mental list has grown exponentially!! I'm considering setting up a second machine in my "work area" so I'm ready to do more, try more, create more! Just want to say thanks everybody! |
One other thing I forgot: I had my wisdom teeth out 2 days after Christmas and have had problems with infections so I am able to get back on the Board and catch up on stuff. Thanks!!!
