I wonder if a gun cabinet could be modified with bars to hang the quilts from?

Here is one at JC Penney. There are thousands out there. Try googling "glass quilt rack" , "enclosed quilt rack" and "glass quilt display case". You will find many beautiful ideas.

I love this idea!! I had never seen one before :D:D:D

I always see them at the quilt shows and dream of having one someday. She is very lucky and what a wonderful gift. Here are some other options.

What a wonderful gift and your wife is a very lucky woman! One question, do you have a brother? LOL

Hi Damon, Welcome to the Quiltingboard. I hope you won't leave us after you have given your wife the Quilt rack.
I am going to do a search of one a board member has which was pretty neat. Wanted to say hi and welcome. I will be back.

On Edit:
This one is beautiful. Her husband made it.

This one is enclosed. Was made by an Amish furniture maker.

Very nice of you to be so thoughtful and do such a nice thing for your wife.

Damon, that is so nice of you to think of her and her grandmother's quilts.
I also have pets and it's hard to display my old quilts. Thanks for the idea.
A lot of others will ask if you have a brother I'm sure!!
You sound like a great guy :D

This is a very good price on this type of storage. The ones I have seen started out at 250. to 300. each.
