Debbie and Mad,
I regret having read some posts by new members meaning "dont come here anymore" . Opinions have always been wellcome and rudeness would be treated personally as a non desired atittude by a moderator. Its upsetting that unpoliteness may compromise the good relationship we developed on the Board. Now that QB is just business, the original might soon be gone. My 5 cents.

Since everyone is putting their two cents worth in I will too. As I have said before we all need to have patience with the problems on the maintenance but what makes me sad is some make really snippy comments about other member's problems. Yes they are suppose to email the board but maybe they did and just were trying to double check to see if it was their computer having a problem. Patience should be shown both ways. I personally haven't noticed that much of a difference however I am sympathic to those who did. I too do not like to hear the complaining if it is not productive. We all need to be tolerant of each other and more kind words and less critical if others don't meet your expectations. If you don't like reading about the problems others are having then move on to the next subject, I did. What the world needs is more love and kindness, there certainly can never be too much.

Thanks for speaking to just being patient! Although some act as though this board is a life or death thing and "wouldn't be tolerated for more than 24 hrs", it is not. We pay nothing to be a part of this community and pay nothing for the people who maintain it. I believe your plea for patients and discretion is very much in order! Thank you

I think if the complainers were charged with administering a small family newsletter board they might be more sympathetic to those with over 27,000 family members. I'm just grateful someone will and, as someone said, "You managed to get on here to complain." Lighten up or, "If it hurts, don't do it."

All I know is that 10 years ago, I would have to pay to get as much wonderful information and help that I have received on this site. And 20 years ago, I would have been on my own to wonder what I was doing wrong in any given 'quilting' situation...my grandmother passed away when I was younger and left me a beautiful handmade quilt, but not the knowledge of how to make it. Also, in today's age, 'slow' means something totally different than it did before the computer era. I am so GRATEFUL to this site, for I cannot afford classes, I wouldn't be able to meet so many other wonderful people who share an interest and are willing to give so much wonderful advice, and I have even learned a little bit more compassion and understanding. :)

Recipes are still here, Click on the Home link....scroll down to "All Sections" and click....you'll see Recipes at the bottom.

I am not one of the people trying to fix the board, however I am tired of the complaining! Even though all those things are bothering you, you did get on the board to complain! Stop the pressure and let them get their job done as best they can. Working on a computer is more complex than some people can imagine. I agree, let's just be patient. I have had some withdrawal problems too! To those of you who are working to fix the board and I might add while it is up and running, I for one think that you are doing a wonderful job, I like the changes and appreciate what you have done for the board and in turn for us! I agree with Treefrog....this is a freebie, a great one at that. Instead of complaining about the site not working, perhaps we should get to work on a few of those UFO's we all have and hopefully site will be back up and running properly so we can all show off what we've accomplished :)

this has been a fascinating read, to say the least.
for the most part, it was gratifying, encouraging, heartening, and downright touching. quit a bit insulting in a few spots. but mostly enough to make me all sniffly in a good way. :-) it's good to provide helpful, insightful, specific and constructive information when things go awry. that's being a team player and watching out for the community. it might bring something to our attention we didn't know about. it's not at all helpful to spit, sputter, fuss and fume in topic, after topic, after topic. it isn't necessary or appropriate to sling the same mud against every available square inch of clean wall space. it's also not necessary. the tech team "got the message" loud and clear during the first daylong outpouring of outrage. we don't need to keep beating them up. besides ... the use of whips and other implements of misery and torture is against the law. also quite tacky, thank you very much. the tech team is hard at work, dedicated to their mission to restore the system to its former glory. i want to personally thank every member who recognizes and appreciates all that is good here. thank you for also appreciating the efforts being made to correct the problems. big, fat, squeezy, squishy, squashy HUGS to all. :-) |

anyway I think this board has been great and I enjoy everytime i get on here. My one complaint is that once I get on I read it all and don't get any thing done that I should be doing. Like the wash,dishes,ironing you know all those nasty household things. keep up the good work. kjym Kathy |

I find a small percentage of people on the board find it easier to complain than to compliment. Some times after spending half an hour checking out the topics listed, I am ashamed to call my self a quilter and in some cases a human being. Life is too short......so....put on your big girl panties and get on with it.

I, for one, am very thankful that I can go on my mac everyday and find out what all of you wonderful folk have been up to. Many thanks to QB and all involved in its creation. I'm inspired very day! :P

I have a son who produces two internet Gospel radio stations on line. He has spent lots and this service is free. It's his ministry. I know things go wrong and it's difficult to fix and I would hope people who listen in on his stations are not reacting to it in a negative way. Please know there are lots of us out here who just enjoy without demanding anything. Thank you for this board.
