Here here!!! Please do not complain, I am just glad to have this site to visit, so its slower sometimes, big deal. I know everyone is doing the best they can to fix it. I just admire them totally for even doing this, as I am a complete novice at computers. Thanks to all who are working on this, I admire your expertise.

We have to agree to fight with all that's in us to make sure that NOTHING happens to end this board. I'll be brutally honest and say that you people on this board are my only quilting friends and without you, I seriously think I'd be in a bad way. So please let's not get upset with each other. I hope this doesn't sound stupid and you understand what I'm saying (((((Wendy)))))

I absolutely agree 100%...was trying to think how to say it!!! ( I do have say though that I have LOTS of "in Person"quilting friends too!!!

I am not one of the people trying to fix the board, however I am tired of the complaining! Even though all those things are bothering you, you did get on the board to complain! Stop the pressure and let them get their job done as best they can. Working on a computer is more complex than some people can imagine.

To those of you who are working to fix the board and I might add while it is up and running, I for one think that you are doing a wonderful job, I like the changes and appreciate what you have done for the board and in turn for us!

THANK YOU, YOU ARE APPRECIATED.

Well since I found this site I spend more time here than actually sewing, so I have seen the slow down as a time to sew more. When these people put their time in VOLUNTARILY the least we should do is support them. Thanks Treefrog for voicing what a lot of us were thinking....My Mom always said if you don't have anything nice to say.....

LilQuilt 04-06-2011 04:19 AM

Yes, thanks to those people who work hard to provide this site for us. I know it must be a burden at times. So to those who complain too much, buck up and deal with this for now. They are working as fast as they can to fine tune it for us.

OK everyone has an opinion and its good that we can state it here but lets keep in mind what this site is for, helping newbies, sharing experiences and showing off your beautiful work, this is my lifeline to quilting as i have no one to share with and i would hate to see it go away.. SO THAT BEING SAID,,, LET'S EVERYONE TAKE A DEEP BREATH AND QUILT SOMETHING... I love it here.

Chill out peeps, relax, do some quilting, have a cup of coffee or tea and let the admins relax and get their job done. After all, this board is priviledge, it is free for us, don't be so demanding.

Hey, Tree Frog .... I agree that Admin is doing a good job of trying to satisfy everyone's needs .....

I think sometimes a thread starts as a simple "Hey, this is happening to me, is anyone else having this problem?" in order to figure out if it is a board problem or a server problem or whatever ...... I don't think they intend to grumble .... but with each additional frustrated input, it just seems to disintegrate into a rant ....

On this board, no person has to "wait your turn" to response -- there are dozens of responses going out in the exact same moment! - Isn't the internet fantastic that way .... a hundred or more votes-a-minute. That being said:

With everyone jumping in from the git-go, with simultaneous responses, what was merely a passing remark becomes waaaaaay too involved ..... I try to take it with a giggle-and-let-it-go attitude ...... way beyond my ability to "fix" it .....

What was it Abe Lincoln was supposed to have said:
"He has the right to criticize who has a heart to help."

jolo 04-06-2011 04:58 AM

well I for one did tell what was happening to me when I tried to access the Board ,not to be complaining but to let the powers that be to know it was happening in my area also in case that was important.

You are a consumer of a free and fabulous service provided for quilters for the love of quilting.

The topics of problems since the changeover have managed to reproduce themselves over and over when in fact if people took the time to scan the topics in the various forums and read what has been advised by Admin. and the Moderators they would see these questions would have been answered over and over again.

Many members have provided excellent advice as to how to get on the board and help with fixing their particular issue.

3TreeFrog is absolutely correct in her statements. Ranting and venting over the same thing ad nauseum serves no purpose and won't get the problems fixed any faster. It is as frustrating to Admin and the Moderators as it is to all of us.

Please give them a break and let this subject drop or PM the appropriate person with your issue if you still don't understand what is going on.

Intolerance or just plain ignorance of what is going on has become way too much. Frankly it's beginning to sound like certain people who believe it is their absolute right to have free services provided and paid for by others and complain when it doesn't go their way or have no tolererance when many people are actively trying to fix the problems.

Please People, give it a rest and let's all return to what this quilting board is meant to be. Enough is truly Enough!

I agree and disagree at the same time. I think that we need to be tolerant but at the same time I see no harm in stating when there is a problem so that they know what to fix. Beyond that, patience is a virtue.

Sorry TreeFrog, I have to respectfully disagree. I am in a profession that uses computers constantly, and I know that these kind of issues would not be tolerated for more than 24 hours. There is really no excuse for this to have dragged on for this long, in my never-to-be-humble opinion.

carol43 04-06-2011 05:34 AM

Thumbs up!

rosalind 04-06-2011 05:36 AM

Must add my 2cents worth.........I have had no problems with the change. No slower nor faster. Has opened every time. I guess I am just lucky from the sound of others complaints. Just glad this board even exists.

pugmom 04-06-2011 05:42 AM

Well said treefrog. Thanks to the ones who make this FREE board possible.

pollym44 04-06-2011 05:50 AM

Thanks for saying what many of us would not. Don't know what I would do without this site, just love it. WELL SAID!!!

nab 04-06-2011 06:00 AM

You know, this is free! Stop the complaining. Be glad we can still visit. If you don't like it, quit coming here. We as quilters should be more tolerant. We do not know what goes on behind the board and I always feel you should not critisize until you walk in their shoes. I also feel they should get more appreciation for what they do.
THANK YOU TO THOSE WHO MAKE THIS BOARD POSSIBLE!!!!!!

Auntie 04-06-2011 06:02 AM

Are you volunteering to be of assistance? It isn't costing you a cent. To you I wish Patience. To the new owners I wish fortitude and perseverence.

goaf1968 04-06-2011 06:10 AM

Thanks, Treefrog, for the perfect comments. Patience is a virtue and should be practiced with great regularity. The folks who operate these groups are usually not professionals, so if it takes a bit longer to correct a problem, so be it. They do an awful lot for absolutely free.

The opposite of patience is immediate gratification, which, unfortunately, is an all-to-familiar expectation in this computer age we live in.

If one must practice immediate gratification, then the only place I know it exists is in the grocery store, spoon in hand, in the ice cream section, looking for chocolate!

Practice patience and you will be rewarded.
