Yes, I've seen the pattern. However, I have never made it or even one similar to it.

I think it was in a magazine a few years ago. Below is a link to the issue that shows the pattern on the cover.

years ago i made one with flaps for the envelope triangle. not sure what the pattern was, too long ago.

The Missouri Star pattern is quite different. I like this one a lot better.

I hadn't considered doing paper piecing...I haven't had much luck with it...but I might give it a go to try this.
