Since I'm fairly new to this I could be wrong, but to change your location from 'in hiding' to where you are all you'd have to do is go in and change your profile I think. Shouldn't be hard.. I haven't loaded a picture of myself yet and I think that's where I'd start. So where are you hiding??

Thanks but the quilt wizard also does that or just eq6?

MaineGirl76 04-02-2010 06:48 AM

I love mine too! Its awesome!

windycitygal 04-02-2010 10:44 AM

Jolo: Click on "My Profile" and you can add your location. As for the upgrade to the newest version of the EQ software, which probably will be EQ7 you will be best off to go to the website and find out about the upgrades.

I love mine. It's a great investment.

amandasgramma 04-03-2010 08:08 PM

I just bought mine today. Downloading and getting it to work was a PITA....BUT, I was able to download a layout I like and found I DO have enough of the oriental fabric I've had for months, to make that pattern. So far....I LOVE it! I've worked computer programs for years, and have used Paint a lot. Also have scanned tons of pictures...so this program was very easy for me. With one exception -- I KNOW I saved the layout and design...but darned if I can find it right now!!!!!

retrogirl02 04-03-2010 08:52 PM

LOVE it and I don't even use a good portion of the functions---YET. It's completely worth every penny. Now I'm amassing add ons and LOVING THEM, too!!

I am going to ask for either the 6 or the 7 for mothers day. Does anyone know when the 7 is coming out? I may just get the wizard for now as long as I can resize block sizes with that one.

hmm, Mothers day thats a good idea. I might ask as well but I think I'll wait being someone said a new version will be out in a month. BTW Joann's carries it online and you can use your 40% coupon and get a really good price.

I wonder if they carry it in the store because when it shows up online it says on sale and says its 149.00 and that is the price I see everywhere,

sewcrafty 04-04-2010 01:37 PM

I tried putting a 40% off coupon on line at Joanne's and it wouldn't go through, but I got mine at jhittlesewing.com for $119.00.

daisey 04-04-2010 01:45 PM

that is a good price,,it may go down more when the 7 comes out,,,But I wonder what will be new on the 7?

sewcrafty 04-04-2010 04:07 PM

I don't know. I haven't seen anything on EQ about 7 coming out. Beside the 114, the next lower is 129 everything else is still 149.

AkAngel 04-04-2010 04:32 PM

I tried the site posted the other day where they said it was 114.00 but I couldn't find it, anyone else have better luck?

Would there be a way to transfer a quilt pattern, say the BQ pattern into EQ6 to play around making it bigger and plugging in my own material? Would I just redraw the individual blocks and then scan my own material?

retrogirl02 04-04-2010 04:45 PM

what is bq?

nursie76 04-04-2010 04:56 PM

BQ is a quilt pattern, I think it stands for big quilt. You can see the pattern on this site:

http://www.marthasquiltingcorner.com...cking5=froogle

I want to do it in oriental fabrics and need to visualize it.
I have EQ6, but have only gotten through the first 2 lessons so far since Christmas.

I purchased mine from this website at 20% off, her books are also 20% off.
I received it 2 days after ordering, fast service. She will also accept paypal if that makes a difference to anyone.
Great customer service.

retrogirl02 04-04-2010 05:27 PM

Patterns can be purchased to work in conjunction with EQ5, Dear Jane (a stand alone product), and EQ 6...I just bought Farmer's Wife and also received Dear Hannah as a gift. They work with the software I already have. I'm sure other versions, too but these are the ones I'm most familiar with.

It is filled with ready to use patterns if you go under the library. As you add compatible patterns, they pop up as well. You can easily change block sizes once you choose a block.

However, a pattern that has been designed by someone else that does not offer an EQ compatible CD is probably copyright protected.

windycitygal 04-05-2010 06:54 PM

Daisy: EQ6 is not in the JoAnn's stores you can only get it online and the 40% off coupon does not apply. They do however carry the Quilt Wizard program which you can use the coupon for. (yes this is very strange)

daisey 04-05-2010 08:42 PM

thanks
