I printed out the blocks lessons . Started working through them. Like this board EQ7 is addictive. Not complaining.

I have been thinking about purchasing this...almost purchased version 5 a few weeks ago (I was too slow). But my question is, I have embroidery software also it has some quilting icons that I haven't used yet...I have been told I don't need EQ7, but I don't see where the embroidery software has as many options as EQ7 does. Does anyone have both? Opinions would help where I am new to both of these softwares.

I do allot of machine embroidery as i just did a quilt that went to a dear friend that had double breast surgery and I also made a pillow case to go with it and I put like red work Humming birds in different designs all over it it came out great I use a dark raspberry on the rose colored blocks and a light rose color on the dark blocks and i use the same colors in the bobbin so it showed up very nicely on both side it went to Iowa and we all cried when she got it .I have QE 6+7 now I got the update for mine I love it as. I have just play with it the good thing as if you have QE6 all th ebook can work with EQ 7 as i bought all the book. i love that we can download the updated fabrics from connecting threads to add to the stash .I buy allot of fabric from them as it is made in the US good sales and help and i love the kits and there thread is great too .

I have EQ6 and it is not hard.

It is complicated, it does so many things.

It makes math and formalizing patterns very easy, once you learn the software ideas.

It is a very logical tool, once you walk through enough of the tutorial videos.

I use it to make printable patterns for blocks, to design complex borders, to test color/fabric combinations in blocks. Then apply those test blocks to a sample layout.

Even if you do not design a quilt with it and only use it to test color layout and placement, it is great!

Do not have a faint heart, jump in and practice, you will use it if you take the time to learn it.

I have the upgrade but have not opened the package yet!

Installed and using it.

I was sneak-attacked <vbg> and am now on the raffle quilt committee for our next quilt show.

We're doing a bunch of 11 inch blocks based on a LeMoyne Star block. Since the blocks will be paper pieced, I suggested floating them in from the edge of the finished block. There'll be lots of gals who never paper pieced before and hopefully floating the blocks will help us avoid cutting off anyone's points.

EQ7 is perfect for drafting the base LeMoyne Star...used Marsha McCloskey's "Feathered Star Quilt Blocks I" to help remind me how to draft one of these stars.

I LOVE EQ!!!

My son and I have EQ5 which does not require internet access.
I want to upgrade to EQ7, however, the reply I got back from EQ
tech was that I needed internet access. We have internet access at the library and have been successful downloading fabric library. Do we just need internet access to register it and then obtain everything else from library access.

Mine just arrived, but is still in the box. Maybe next weekend I'll install it and play around with it.
