there are lots of the Pro quilters that swear by those chairs. Dusty Farrel uses one and he told me he couldn't work without it. I would have to test it myself but it does look interesting

My kneeling chair was from the early 90s - so no special saddle seat - it was wood with a padded seat and kneeler - and could be set to three heights. There are much more expensive versions out there now.

Your weight doesn't rest on your knees, but on your shins, and it does help with posture, but alas, I am no longer as graceful as I once was.

Cheers, K

I know the LA'ers tend to like them. A LA educator here prefers the high chair type thing at IKEA. It doesn't have wheels though.

For my sewing machine I bought a Swopper and love it. It is like sitting on a balance ball only it doesn't roll. It makes me sit ergonomically, something my office chair never did. I bought it years ago because I noticed the worker bees at the high end office furniture store used them at their work stations.

I have been thinking about getting one like shown in this link to use when FMQ'ing...do any of y'all have this one with the tractor seat?

I have two longarming friends who each own one of these and they both love and swear by them. One of them brings hers to every retreat.

I was in Harbor Freight just yesterday...they have the saddle chair in there. I unfortunately did notice the price.

I don't have that, but I use a stool that has a gently rounded bottom, so it is also a bit like sitting on an exercise ball. I like it because it swivels and tilts however I want it to go, and I dont have the back of a chair constantly getting in my way and hitting my side table.
