Not as long as there is a/c.

Well, my 11 year old granddaughter who helps make quilts for our TV program was here 2 days, temp was 106 ,YES one-hundred-six, but yesterday it cooled down to 102. We decided yesterday afternoon to go to a local fast food place and sat in the air conditioning and talked through quilt ideas for the program. We were the only ones there for about 3 hours and the staff said they didn't mind and kept insisting we have more soda to drink................no extra charge.

Never to hot for me. I am sidelined right now because of spine surgery 10 days ago and I am already getting antsy.

Yes, it's psychological. It is so hard for me to quilt when it is hot. I can cut and piece fine but quilting is a chore.

It's 108 here....yes, it's too hot to quilt. :) :) Okay, piecing is fine if they're cut out and ready to go. IRONING is my issue...I press every seam, don't do chain piecing.....and by golly, it's too hot. The second reason is because of the heat I'm not sleeping well, so if you'll excuse me, rather than sewing, I'm going to take a nap!

I live in East Contra Costa County and it was 106 last week. That's too hot to do anything! I grew up in Stockton and remember the days before we got A/C and all of the drapes were drawn before noon. I do that in my house now to keep the utility bill down. We also use fans but I have to be careful when I'm laying out pieces. I once lost a great layout for a scrap quilt when I got up from my chair. I didn't realize that I was blocking the pieces from my oscillating fan. It oscillated the heck out of my layout! Now I keep my phone with me and before I get up I take a photo of what I'm working on....just in case!

We have live music in our City parks on Saturday night and Monday night. We bring a sandwich and go early to get a decent parking place and I always take hand work along. I get it done and it's a great ice breaker too because people will ask about it.

I live in Ontario Canada near Ottawa. We are cooped in all winter when it is cold so when the weather is warm, I am outside.
