This is what I was experiencing--just wanted to get some fresh air. Thankfully, I've never had the problem in the past but will now make sure I at least dunk anything new in water--even if it is a pre-cut.

that sounds like what I experienced when I moved into a new mobile home. found out it was formaldehydes that were used. the fabric could have some in them, hopefully not, but washing it many times may be very helpful.. also, seek out an allergy medical person for help. they can find things that regular medical people who do not deal with allergies will not even consider. good luck.
