For me, 2011 was a year of stocking up on fabric and batting. My financial situation will change at the end of the year and there won't be as many purchases. In fact, my New Year's resolution for 2012 is to use up everything I have!

I only bought if I ran short during a quilt and I'm blaming Hancock's for only lasting 301 days of my -No new fabric for a yr rule-They had all their Batiks 50% off plus it was 15% Sr discount day and I was doing ok til I noticed I had unclaimed money in the bank -well I only had 2 hrs before closing time to get there and browse the aisles sooo-needless to say I broke a few speed limits on my way but I brought home all the ones I'd been drooling over for a very long time and fabrics to re-upholster a love seat.-I've never gone 2wks without buying fabric let alone 43 wks.

It's difficult to stay on a fabric "diet" here in the Denver area because we have a fabric store that sells fabric for $5.00 a yard and batik for $6.00 a yard. The owner buys fabric from people for $6.00 a pound and then resells it. What's in stock is usually 2+ years old, but then most of my stash is that old also. People are bringing her gorgeous, top-of-the-line fabric, exactly what I would buy, and a real bargain compared to the LQS's. The store usually has gorgeous batiks in stock, and I can't resist them! (Hubby is not happy with me at all.)

This should have been a stash-building year for me as it was my first quilting year, but I became uncomfortable about what I had bought and doubted my choices. So, I ended up the year with enough fabric for two projects I know I will do, one I might do but have no focus for, and a couple drawers of left-overs and random stuff in colors and patterns I liked at one point but I'm not guilty about it.

From now on I don't buy anything I don't have a purpose for unless I know I will never see the fabric again and I truly adore it. But I am more likely to know how much quilting I can accomplish and more likely to know how to use a particular fabric line, so I will likely buy more than last year. And I can't wait!!!

I wasn't part of the moratorium at the beginning of the year but because of lack of income and charity, I joined a group of ladies from a local guild that were making quilts for hospital patients. I was supplied with fabric that was donated and I very frugally made at least 20 tops for one group and 18 for another. Otherwise I only bought things to finish all the baby blanket that have been needed to provided to family and friends. I did buy on 60% off sale some fabric for more blankets for kids that I haven't touched and some of the fabric for a winter theme and beach theme quilt for me. Otherwise I have done really well.

Do they have a web presence? The price is great!! I love quality fabric, but my budget is limited.

I bought some but did use a lot of my stash. Hopefully will rely more on my stash again this year.

I think I'm finally ready to join the 2012 Moratorium...I need to do the diet too, but we'll see....

Only thing I bought this year was fabric to make a quilt for my great neice's birthday. I have been on a no new fabric until I clean up most of my wips and ufos. Have done a great deal of finishing up and will continue into 2012 until I get it done. I have also have helped my neice finish some of her ufos too. Trying to build good habits all around. lol.
