fabric choice for one block wonder
Which do you recommend?

I can’t tell by the scale but both seem to have a lot of white. You might end up with quite a few all white or almost white blocks.

I like the Dear Stella fabric, between the two. More color and less white.

There is a OBW app that you can use on your phone to show you exactly how a fabric will look. You just download your picture into the programme and play with it in there. It's called Design Helper, I believe.

the key to choosing a print for one block wonder (OBW) is knowing the “repeat” of the design. You must understand what “repeat” means in order to even cut out the fabric pieces. If you are not familiar with the term “repeat” , look it up or better yet. Buy the book. Everything you need to know about OBW is in the book. Fabric with a lot of white or background space is usually good for OBW and the larger “repeat” in the design to get the OBW block size.

Need picture as I don’t know the fabric.

Cut a shape out of aper and lay over various areas of the fabric to see hoe it will cut.
