Thank you for starting this. I'm in. The only change I'm making is stopping Nov. 1st for year end sales even though I didn't start until Jan. 14. I really want to do this. I think it will help if I have others to help.

Cool, SpotM! :thumbup:

Have you seen this thread? It's the January Update for the fabric moratorium. http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-86351-1.htm

Yes. Thank you for making sure I can follow you. I appreciate it. Pat (aka Spot)

What I'm thinking about is this...

* no fabric purchases to start a new quilt top
* from now until 1 November 2011

What you can buy is this - items to finish an existing quilt project (either WIP or UFO):

* batting

I have spent only $2.60 on fabric in months!! I set up my sewing room, have plenty to work from and think saving $$ has been great. I am going to use it for classes or a sewing retreat
* backing or binding fabric
* fabric (if nothing in your stash will work)
* thread or notions

Anyone else interested in joining me?

I tried that last year...lol...the first two weeks of 2010 were the longest...then I stopped at my LQS and got happy again.

OH no I just couldn't!

Wonder who would cave first? Can I have my family buy something for me? :lol: I did fairly well in January at not buying anything extra, but just yesterday I fell down. I have so many ideas and plans on the drawing board (and in the cupboard) I shouldn't have any want. I'll try with you.

Boy am I late on the band wagon. I'll give it a try anyway. Like you I have plenty to keep me going. One question: How much weight are we going to gain from eating because of the stress on not being able to purchase material? Keep your eye on the goal: DO THE BEST WITH WHAT YOU HAVE!

Sorry, no way.

I think I should join this, I've been trying to do this for quite some time and maybe having some support will help. I wish I had seen this thread when you first posted it. I think I might have been busy shopping.........Count me IN!
