I get the empty bolt boards from the LQS (free), cut them in half, fold fabric in half lengthwise, and wrap. I keep them on large baker's racks. FQ's in plastic 3-drawer unit, cut scraps into strips, squares,etc. Store them in bins by size. Took me 2 months to get it all done but SOOOOO worth it!!

I have the same resolution. I have odds and ends of fabric that I need to make charity projects with. Lap quilts for the nursing home, dog pillows for the humane society, blankets for the nursey schools/organizations. I would of love to have done them before Christmas, but I will have some time off after Christmas. That will be a win-win. Charitable items and more room in my fabric closet then.

I have wondered if those boards are acid frre? I have thought about doing that, but those are very thick and would take up more room in my closet. What size scraps do you cut your scraps into? I have an entire bin and more to do something with.

I used display boards I bought from Hobby Lobby. My DH cut them to the sizes I need on his table saw. I still have a ways to go, but it is really taking shape and looks sew much neater in my sewing room. The pic here is just one wall in my sewing room with fabric....there are more! LOL

What are comic/magazine boards
 

I have never heard of these. Where do you get them, and how do you store the fabric on them, in a stack, or in your closet vertically?

I bought a large piece of foam-core and my DH cut it into the correct size. Sure saved a lot of money. Problem is, I have more fabric than I do storage space. I am a fabriholic!!!

I also use the comic boards and they are so easy and economical to use.

I bought mine at a local comic book store. They have both comic book boards and magazine boards (slightly larger). You can also google comic book boards online and several sites come up.
