Fabric at Target

Hey! Just read that some Target stores are
carrying fabric. Who knew? It is apparently precuts and bundles from Fabric Editions and the section in store is called the Fabric Loft. Limited stores so far and none in my area.

Onebyone 04-17-2014 11:25 AM

I found this link: http://www.fabriceditions.com/fabricloft_at_Target/

Jim's Gem 04-17-2014 11:27 AM

I had not heard of that. Wonder if any of the stores around us will get fabrics?

Jim's Gem 04-17-2014 11:28 AM

There wasn't anything on that list near me.....

cathycabot 04-17-2014 11:48 AM

Simular to fat quarters at Walmart

QUILTNMO 04-17-2014 11:54 AM

interesting i never shop target but may have to check it out we have 3 stores here!!! thanks for information!

toverly 04-17-2014 11:57 AM

It would be really neat if it had some of the modern designs Target has promoted the past few years.

interesting.... at the bottom of the list of locations is a link to let them know you'd like one near you

Sewnoma 04-17-2014 12:17 PM

Oh cool, "my" Target is on the list! I'll have to look and see if I can find it next time I'm there.

I was just thinking that Target should have a fabric department...maybe this is a step towards that.

davis2se 04-17-2014 12:24 PM

I just saw this earlier today. Got very excited until I saw that NO Michigan Target stores were on the list. Oh well, I'm sure they will be someday, and I shouldn't be buying any more fabric of any kind for a long, long time.

You've seen them? If they're poor quality like the WM ones, I'll pass.

nellie 04-17-2014 01:00 PM

I found a sign up request to have a store near you sell fabric ,if you click on end of page you sign up there plus they have free patterns

ManiacQuilter2 04-17-2014 01:24 PM

I would NEVER have thought that Target would carry fabrics. WHO KNEW ?? Haven't shopped there in years.

lynnie 04-17-2014 01:39 PM

I have a new one opening ina few weeks and 2 Targets within 10 miles of me. I hope I get a fabric one. Is there somewhere we can ck to see if we're getting it?

Sally J 04-17-2014 05:03 PM

I checked and my local store is on the list. I'll go by and check it out and let everyone know what they have.

ging10ging 04-17-2014 05:21 PM

I checked the list and none in my area of Florida. Thanks for the list. Sue

athomenow 04-17-2014 06:07 PM

There's one in north Columbus, I don't know if I'd drive up there to see what it's like but maybe since Columbus has always been a test market for food we'll get something else. I hope it comes out east. I'd love to have other choices in buying fabric even if it's precuts. If any of you go please post what it's like with prices and quality.

PlanoDebbie 04-17-2014 06:14 PM

Somebody in the market research department at Target must be doing their homework. I was surprised to see so many California stores were on that list. Closest ones to me are in Houston and Austin. I guess the advantage to selling just pre-cuts is not needing all the cutting area and to stock large bolts of fabrics. If they limit the selection to the top 10-20 best selling items, they should sell well.

TeresaA 04-17-2014 06:18 PM

My closest Target carries it. I suspect I'll be as disappointed as I was in the Tuesday Morning fabric. ;-). But it may be a sign that people are looking for better fabric prices....

Anniedeb 04-17-2014 07:45 PM

Wow...I was at one of the listed stores today...didn't see it! Wasn't looking, but I'm a "wanderer" when I shop, so I'm surprised I missed it! Have to make another trip to check it out!

trivia42 04-17-2014 08:32 PM

Awesome! I love the asthetic of their products, so much more collected than WM. Sadly the closest fabrics to me are on the other side of the state so I'll wait and see if they roll it out in more stores in my area.

Amythyst02 04-18-2014 02:28 AM

none in my area, but there was one listed for Tucson. Surprised there was none for Phoenix area...

DebbE 04-18-2014 02:53 AM

Nothing in Northern California, nothing in the state of Oregon, and you have to head up near Seattle in Washington - I guess they feel the Pacific Northwest isn't a good market! I left a message on their site, but am not holding my breath!

WMUTeach 04-18-2014 03:56 AM

Just checked the list and not in Michigan. Do they know that they are missing a huge sales by not offering in MI? Tee-Hee! Hope to see some posts about the quality of the product. I am not familiar with that brand of fabric.

coopah 04-18-2014 04:58 AM

My previous "hometown" is on the list!! Issaquah, WA!! Amazing! Maybe I should move back? Yes, PlanoDebbie, I think you're right about someone in marketing at Target doing their homework. Issy is also the headquarters for Costco, and the economy there always seems to be good. There's only one fabric store in town, and it carries very nice quilting fabric, so hope Target doesn't affect that LQS!

There wasn't anything on that list near me, maybe some day if this line takes off for Target

Carrie in PA 04-18-2014 05:52 AM

The target closest to me doesn't have it. It's far enough away that i try to make a day of shopping so that i can hit as many stores as possible. One more stop would be nice.

tessagin 04-18-2014 05:57 AM

Went to the link. Thanks for sharing the web by the way. Not in Corpus Christi, Tx. though. That's ok we have enough Wallyworlds and JAF and Hancocks. If I can't find what I want I'll just go online.

Walmart here has two different fabric qualities for fat quarters. The fat quarter pack tied with ribbon is good quality fabric and cost more per fat quarter, the single $1 fat quarters are for fabric projects, not for quilting.

mrs. fitz 04-18-2014 07:17 AM

Not one listed in the state of NJ. I'll go back to the link and find the place to sign up requesting a store in my area.

sandy l 04-18-2014 08:01 AM

Just checked the list and none in Ind.

Well while the 3 target stores closest to me do not carry fabric I decided to go a bit further down the road to one that does. The selection is very limited but appealing for $5.99 a yard I found it to be better than decent quality. Far better than anything I have ever found at Walmart and right in line with Joanns top line. I picked up 7 yards of solids to add to my stash

Maire 04-18-2014 03:16 PM

I just went to the link, none convenient to me but if you scroll down there is a link where you can put in you zip code if you want fabric Loft near you, I did that

Jo C 04-18-2014 04:32 PM

My target is on the list....gonna go check it out!

grannie cheechee 04-18-2014 04:50 PM

When the Target here stopped the garden center, asked if they were going to put in fabric. LOL I'm still waiting for them to do it. Now with this news maybe I can push some more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

grammyof4 04-18-2014 05:21 PM

none in my state ky

Kristi.G 04-18-2014 06:18 PM

I stopped in at the Issaquah WA one tonight, and I really was not impressed. I know one poster up-thread seemed pleased, so your mileage may vary. It was about a 4' wide display, with a few full yard cuts, matching fat quarters, some matching trims and then some one-yard cuts of canvas toile. I guess the prices were OK, but the selection was very slim.

I absolutly agree the selection was extremly thin I just think the quality is better than average soft pliable and not see through.
