last year i saw where a quilter had taken all her little dogears & put them into a clear christmas ornament... she had painted the year inside it somehow first...
i thought that was great.. see different fabrics every year!

We are cutting them all up in 1 1/2 x 3 1/2 inch rectangles and then sewing them on adding machine paper like some one showed on this board.

Also the trimmings left from that can be used for

After that I do not think much would be left.

well, i just made pillows for a local pet shelter. i am teaching quilting to a group from a local rehab center and put out a call for quilt scraps. guess what i got???? LOTS of double knit and a huge box of SCRAPS - i mean unusable strings, etc. two washers full of ladies blouses, some old stained t-shirts and old double knit pants. so, rather than throw it all away, i sewed the t-shirts closed at arms & bottom, left opening at neck, stuffed them with a little bit of scraps then sewed the neck closed. my DD's SINL said she put them in the dog beds and they just LOVED 'em. she boards dogs for our local shelter. i cut the pants up and made pads to go in the bottom of pet carriers. so everything got used.

Several years ago I went to a retreat and at the end of the day we gathered up all of our little scraps and thread ends. The larger pieces we just cut back and forth with the rotary cutter until they were very small. Then we drew a free hand picture on a piece of muslin, covered that with a piece of fusible web and then sprinkled those little snippets in the different areas. Cover everything with a pressing cloth and steam it until the web is gone. After that it could be FMQ if there are loose pieces. It actually was a lot of fun.
