The company I work for is giving each employee a $250 gift card for Christmas. The rule is that you can only purchase things for yourself, nothing for the family or the house. The gift card this year will be from Coldwater Creek, so basically clothing. Don't get me wrong, this is a wonderful gift but I really don't want to spend all that money and then only be able to wear the clothes for a short time. Any ideas on what might be most likely to still be wearable after I lose 40 or 50 lbs?

Congrats to those who are losing - you are an inspiration!

You need to take care of yourself first. Hopefully we are all doing this for the right reason. Being healthy is more important than a number on a scale.

I'm sorry to hear you are not feeling well.
I have an underactive thyroid and am on meds. It is very hard to lose weight but it can be done.
It is up to you but we are all on your side.
Take care of yourself.

How long is the gift cert good for??
I have to loose 50 pounds. I will not buy new jeans untill I can take off these without unbuttoning them. At that time I will have to buy new ones.
I do not intend to stay in those but I will need something.
If the cert is good for a year you will be able to get new stuff at that time.
You can do it. We will do it together.
So far I have lost 16 pounds.

Oh! For Coldwater Creek - you've got handbags, scarves, jewelry.. accessorize yourself! Jewelry can always be in style, and you can plan your current and skinnier clothes around it.

I will get the card by the first of December and will have about 2 weeks. We have a company luncheon on the 23rd and everyone shows off what they bought. Any money that doesn't get spent has to be returned.

I hadn't thought about jewelry, that would be fun. Do they sell shoes?

Laurie - go glam! Accessories are the way to go (in my opinion) or you can get a sweater or a jacket that you think would look really nice now and when it gets to be a bit larger on you. I like loose sweaters that I have the option of buttoning or leaving open.

Yes!! They sell shoes too.

I love their skirt and sweater outfits, but couldn't ever afford to shop there.

Thank you for dancing with me. It's been 49 years since anyone cared what I weigh. My mother was a fanatic about weight, but she died in 1961.

Another underactive thyroid here, too, and it can't be as medicated as it should be because of Lupus. It's a tradeoff. Enough synthoid to help, but not cause a flare. Such is life.

Time to check my debit balance and go to a certain website. Whoopee!
