What is your favorite fabric line/brand to use? Do you choose based off of colors or project idea?

I don't have a favorite name brand. I buy whatever I think
will look good with the pattern I've chosen. Then, of course look at the qualty before buying.

I choose what I love. I am not true to one line, brand or designer.

I go by feel, color and design....

I seem to always migrate to Robert Kaufman. It used to be Hoffman .. but not so much lately.

I love Moda by Three Sisters, Bonnie and Camille and April Cornell

nope, no favorite designer or brand or line here. I do have to say that I'm a bit obsessed with the Neptune line by Tula Pink for Moda, but that's probably because I grew up by the sea and my father was a commercial lobster fisherman, and my first (and second) boats name was Neptune.

I select the quilt design, then the colors, then the fabric line based on quality.

i love benartex flannels, michael miller prints, fairy frost's and crystals, patrick loose for those fun kids prints...moda's and thimbleberries-

I seem to be drawn to anything Moda. But there are many others I like also.

I LOVE Robert Kaufman, Michael Miller and Alexander Henry but I don't only use fabrics from their lines. I choose usually on the design and go from there

I go with what I like at the time.

I pick by what fits the project and the feel or if I have the extra money what appeals to me at the time. My problem? I love it all!

I go by color, quality, design. If I am drawn to a line, it is only because it possesses a lot of the color or design that I like.

Robert Kaufman is my all time favorite for Christmas and Asian fabrics in particular.
Also really like Robert Hoffman fabrics.

Love Henry's spooky stuff. I recently found 2 retired pieces on Ebay and snatched them right up.

I'm currently obsessed with Loralie Harris.

I pick by color & design/print. I have a picture in my mind and try to match it.

I choose what I love for myself and try to make gifts based on the recipients favorite colors and pattern that fits their decor.

Because I like the quality of Connecting Threads fabric I always go to them first to see if they have what I need. I seem to like the colors and prints of Concord and RJR most often. I will never buy another Benartex fabric. I bought a piece at LQS and it was awful. It was stiff and the stiffness did not wash out and the print is very uneven. It is the only fabric that ever bled.

I buy what I like, I dont go for brands, or designers. I buy what appeals to me by sight and touch...

Hoffman batiks, Benartex apple butter blenders and many more!

I usually buy what's on sale, lol....but I sure am partial to Miller....and went through an Amy Butler stage.....

But if it's a batik, doesn't matter who does it - I'm on it.

I don't have a favorite but I do like Timeless Treasures.

French General and anything else Moda!!!!

Hoffman and Northcott are my favourites but so expensive I rarely buy them.Am still hoping to find some of Hoffmans whiskers and tails no luck yet.

love the feel of the cotton and richness of color, checking stash..... ok guess i love a wide varity of brands ! but my thread is all Superior and Aurifil :) good to see you on this site Mr.&Mrs. Superior Thread Family, did you know we talk about King Tut and so fine and bottom line,etc. here, we love you! i told everyone here about your jokes in your newsletter.

I use Moda most but will shop price and pattern from other companies if it suits the project.

I do not look at the brands when I buy.I go by the design and quality of the fabric.However, when I get home I then notice that I buy Marcus Bros, Hoffman and Michael
Miller the most, even though I shop in lots of places.

I choose the pattern first, and then colors, the fabric is last and I don't buy from just one line. I will walk through all the fabrics to find just the right color or print. Then I look at quality and price. Sometimes that perfect fabric is outside of my budget and sometimes it is too perfect to not pick up!

Design and quality; but I prefer Kaufman Kona for plain colors.

Based on quality of the line...I have a few favs, but then from there I choose by color, then design.

My favorite by far has always been any of the Fusions line by Robert Kaufman. I use more of that than any other fabric line. If I win the lottery, I'm going to buy every color that is manufactured.

Moda is my favorite fabric but not always my favorite design. I like the quality of Moda but it does seem to fray more than some. I pick what I like for the pattern I am making. Thimbleberries is a very nice fabric and I really like Berntex. I guess I just like fabric.

This is the same process I use.
