Looking back upon prior topics, I see there has been a lot of requests for advice on purchasing a sewing machine, and discussion about the machines that people love and currently use. I'm just curious what quilters feel has been their favorite machine of all time. Is there a machine you absolutely loved, but had to lay to rest?

i just loved my Juki TL98Q for piecing. But it is not laid to rest... it has moved to the quilt frame. It's too much bother to keep taking it off, so i use an older DSM for piecing/sewing. If/when I get a larger machine for the frame, I will rededicate the Juki to piecing

I love my Bernina 1230, but it is still going strong. It has been utterly dependable, purrs like a kitten, never lets me down.

I had a Bernina 1230 for years and finally give it to my niece and now she is really enjoying it and has lots of feet with it. I have 3 other Berninas now and wish Bernina would put out a storage for the feet that I have been collecting. I really don't care for the little compartments they have now. It just dosn't hold all my feet.

My old 830 Bernina and my mothers featherweight.

Juki F600 followed closely by Juki 98Q.

i'm a diehard Juki fan and they are the only machines i work with.

I have a bernina 165, which I love! I hope to never have to lay it to rest, that would be way too depressing

I LOVE my Bernina 1130! I bought it in the mid 80's, and I hope it lasts as long as I do. It takes care of all my sewing...piecing quilt tops, garment sewing, home dec projects.

I have fond memories of several machines. An old Singer electric, a Singer Touch and Go, a Bernina Activa and my current favourite: Bernina 440 QE. Time spent on them all was enjoyable and I traded up to my Berninas. I do have a Singer Treadle which I love too and it no doubt will outlast me.

I just sold my Janome 6600 yesterday. I got a 7700 last year and just kept holding on to my beloved 6600 until I was sure I loved the 7700 just as much. I do, so it was time to let another quilter enjoy the 6600.

It was sad watching her leave, but I did get to make a trip to the LQS today so that made things a bit better.
