Share yours.... I have many, but found new one today!
" You know you are drinking too much coffee when you
can thread a sewing machine while it's running."

np3 10-22-2010 01:46 PM

That's cute.

I like:

Warning, this car brakes for all Quilt Shops.

And mine does!!!

Coffee and Quilting two of my favorite things!

"Asking a quilter to mend is like asking Picasso to paint your garage."

as my family well knows. My daughter was telling a tale about her growing-up years: "If I didn't like any of my clothes, I would just drop them in the mending basket. Problem solved. I never saw them again."

Are there lots of quilt stores in Bakersfield? I use to live there years ago.. That's where my daughter was born and we still have some really good friends there also.

My newest favorite I learned from a quilt teacher a few weeks ago...."Don't injure your quilting arm doing housework!'

I did the shoving and sweeping under cleaning the other day-----------and strained my quilting arm. Honestly. A few clipped threads on the floor and I got over it. tee hee

Kitsapquilter 10-22-2010 03:51 PM

When life you gives you scraps make a quilt!

"Quilting is better than sex!" Enough said.

butterflyquilter 10-22-2010 09:13 PM

Quilting is cheaper than therapy.

My husband said if I buy any more fabric he will leave me....I will miss him.

BRenea 10-22-2010 09:34 PM

It comforts me and warms my heart, my quilt and I shall never part.

Qbee 10-22-2010 11:05 PM

I brake for fabric & Quilts are a blanket of love.

anicra 10-23-2010 04:34 AM

These sayings are all great. I found a site that sells (for an extremely reasonable price!!) little figurines that hold signs with many, many quilting sayings on them. I got one as gift and loved it so much I got a bunch for my guild as holiday presents. They are truly adorable. The man I spoke with at this site was extremely nice (his wife's a quilter!) and was very accommodating. Check it out!!

I love your Picasso quote and a few of my kids would identify with your daughter's tale.
