I am thinking about getting a Featherweight to take to classes with me. I am wondering what most people pay for these machines. Can anyone tell me what a fair price would be. I don't mind paying but don't want to get ripped off either. Thank you to everyone who reads this.

I bought mine for $200 at an estate sale with case and tons of feet, but I also got a pretty good deal. Anything between $200-300 can be a good price for a Featherweight. If they've just been worked on and cleaned up in a shop, maybe more.

I have only seen pics of it but it looks to be in excellent condition. The asking price is $350. so I don't know if I want to spend THAT much. I would probably pay $300. I am also looking at an antique Singer with a case. It also looks to be in excellent condition. Either one will probably be fine for classes.

I bought one a few weeks ago on E-Bay and I paid $325 plus shipping. I thought it was a little much but no one outbid me so it was mine. And that is fine. I was dying for one and I think I did I did pay top dollar. The case is in very good condition. I need a belt as this one is a little frayed but I wonder if I need to have it done in a repair shop with a tune up because I don't know the last time it was cleaned or anything.

I am just thrilled with it tho!!!!!

I thought I would take mine to class with me, but only have the straight stitch foot. It seems when I go to a class or retreat I'm always needing at least a zig zag, so the featherweight stays home.

I paid $225.00 for mine with shipping on E-Bay. I was the only bidder. It's in really good condition with case and some attachments. I feel I got a great deal. If you keep watching on E-Bay you will get one sooner or later. It only took me about a month.

As you can see, it varies a lot. If you aren't in a hurry you can keep an eye on craigslist and garage sales and possibly find one at a good bargain price. Otherwise, look at the COMPLETED ebay sales to see what they're actually selling for. I bought mine several years ago (craigslist) for $300, which included the featherweight table and case. The table needed new veneer but the machine and case were in great shape, and the machine had been in recent use so it didn't require any work.

I think it depends on what part of the country you're in... and whether or not the seller knows what they have.

I paid $300 for mine, but I *really* wanted this particular machine for the year it was made...
