I love the way mine stitches. Anything you can get under the presser foot it can sew through. I've sewed everything from my wedding dress to car upholstery. I take mine to classes and quilt club and if my Brother machine acts up I get out my Featherweight.

you can ALWAYS count on a Featherweight. That's why they are still around after all these years. They are made of all metal, very simply made but works like a work horse. Plus it's just fun to sew on something older than me!

Great for piecing and general sewing! Light weight and small enough to take anywhere. The best thing about it is that you can clean and service it yourself (also the 301's). I took a class about 20 years ago called "The care and feeding of your Featherweight" and unlike my Viking that has to be taken in annually to be serviced I can manage most everything on these machines myself. When it does need something it is still relatively inexpensive to have a repair man take care of. No computers or plastic parts and it will sew anything. I have been lucky enough to find 4 of them over the years and have two 301's. I really need to downsize and find a few of these new homes, but you tend to get attached to the cute little things.
