I think that a lot of us learned to sew on one. I started stitching on my mom's when I was nine and it was my only machine until I bought a used Touch and Sew when I was sixteen. Now my DD has her grandma's machine and I had to go out and find my own.

They are built to last and last and last. They purr like little kittens. They are easy to use, easy to fix. They are absolutely adorable even the ones that are a bit weathered. They sew a beautiful straight stitch. They are light to carry. They have history. I probably left something out but you get the picture.
