I ran into a lady also known as Nancy Jefferson who has feed sack material. I did not know until she told me that the feed was shipped with the inside out. She also had some really neat kits, I abought a blue wedgewood Lancaster Rose to make for our anniversary. I am planning on going back and getting some of the feed sacks for a memory quilt.

You can tell if you get the whole piece if it is still intact or you can see where the seam was sewn. Often the fabric is sold in pieces and parts. |
Lucky you!

I remember those bags well. Does that make me older than dirt? I would love some of those just for memories sake. How can I get in touch with Nancy Jefferson? My father used to get chicken feed in those bags. My Mother and Grandmother made all sorts of treasures out of them including dresses for me since I was the only girl in the family for awhile.

What are some suggestions for limiting the amount of fraying one gets when prewashing materials?
