I posted yesterday about my machine breaking my thread. Turns out I was using hand quilting thread in my machine. Big mistake. I am a self taught quilter and had no idea...I bought what was cheaper. Again mistake! So I am finally done with my quilt in all its wonkynest :) I think I would have liked the results much better if I had been using good thread. Oh well next time for sure!

Oh yeah and before the quilt police start up, the first time I even touched a sewing machine was in April of this year. Not bad for self taught, but room for lotts of improvement!

Very pretty little quilt, someone is going to love it. I find that each quilt I make, I learn something new, usually the hard way:) Good for you to start out on your own. You are doing great.

Thanks for the tip - I would never have known that using the "wrong" thread would cause so many problems. I love your fabric choices and think you did a really nice job.

Looks good...especially for being such a "newbie"! And by the way, there are NO quilt police here...:)! Carry on, you're doing well and we'll expect great things out of you based on what we see already!
