Dave is located in Washington state. He has a comprehensive book and DVD with step by step care and maintenance instructions. I would recommend you getting one or both.

Glenn Williams: http://pages.suddenlink.net/joyof301s/glenn.htm
I have never purchased anything from him, but his name is mentioned in the Yahoo group frequently as someone to go to.

Dave McCallum's book is a must-have. You easily learn how to oil, lube, thread, tension, etc., thus saving a service fee. I sure hope it has the bobbin case as these are $$$. I've ordered from Glenn and he is terrific. FUN, FUN, FUN!

Welcome to the club and congratulations. If you're like me, once you clean it up and start piecing......it will be your machine of choice. It's also difficult to just stop at one. I now have 9 and I'm sure they'll be more.

Congratulations and welcome to the club. I was scared at first too. One thing to remember is to thread the needle from right to left. That's important and unusual. Have fun!!

Beautiful machine. I am looking for one too! Enjoy your purchase! It was a very good buy. Now all you have to do is go buy more fabric and notions with the money you saved. I'm just saying...lol.

I'm excited for you that you got something that you obviously wanted!

I noticed other threads about Featherweight machines, and thought they were new and modern ones. (obviously did not read!)

So, please do tell me what's the excitement? Is there a specific use, beyond what modern machines? Or is it like getting an antique car?

And now you have me wondering, did I make a "bad" decision when I sold my Mom's old black Singer a few years ago? :)

She looks like a real jewel, enjoy her.
