The gift of love is the one that counts! I hope next year is a better one for you. I love EQ 5, have the EQ 6 upgrade but I like 5 the best. Have fun with it!

Merry Christmas to you! I would of been dancing a jig in the store! I am so glad it lifted your spirits. Remember we are not all alone, this year has been a tough one for many people, even though all reports say sales are up I am sure there are going to be many families going without this year. I too, have been really down, it's been a rough year, financially, mentally and physically but I'm getting there just like you will. In many ways this board has helped me, the stories, pictures but most of all the friendship and camaraderie. it's not the gift but the thought behind it. Maybe you could sit down and write each of them a letter about how much they mean to you, or a note with a lighthearted story of something that happened when they were young--bake them some of their favorite Christmas cookies and send them. Your kids and g-kids are going to love you no matter what, they will not hold against you, nor will they probably even remember the yr. they did not get gifts from you! Smile, keep your chin up and remember that your family loves you and many people care for you! Now... have you tried out your new Christmas present yet?

I not only started to tear, I did. This thread was one of the very best I have read on the board. It touched my life in so many ways, thanks to all of you.

We then had an auction and were able to bid on the things they had to offer----coupons for a "dinner at the farm" we could choose what mom fixed, an afternoon of dad helping clean our garage or basement, a coupon for an oil change from dad, one for a tire rotation, there were also jars of homemade jam, loaves of homemade bread, bags of mom's noodles, pies, etc. It was one of the best and most memorable Christmas' ever. We had such fun bidding against each other. Mom and dad loved seeing their gifts bring in outrageous amounts like $500-$700 for the last jar of jam, $800 for an oil change and so on.

Christmas doesn't have to cost a lot to be enjoyable.

Wow...what a wonderful idea! This would have been a hoot a few years back. Our family is getting smaller and smaller, now we're just happy to go out for a pre-Christmas meal together. Thanks for sharing.

One year I was out of work in the fall and I picked nuts cracked them put them in jars. DW made the rice bags for the microwave for everyone. One of the best Christmas we have had. Sometimes we get tied up over gifts. Bless You and your family.

I am sure that Santa put that there just for you to find when you needed a lift. Enjoy using it. Merry Christmas.
