Shopping at Hobby Lobby yesterday. Looked at the clearance section and what do I find?? An 80 inch wooden quilting frame. Original price $69.99. I paid $15.51 without a coupon! I can't wait to break it in! :)

JJs 03-28-2010 10:13 AM

wow!

dkabasketlady 03-28-2010 10:30 AM

I wish we had Hobby Lobby in FL., I miss that store. I'm originally from IN. so I shopped there all the time. Great shopping trip even with NO coupon!

Roben 03-28-2010 10:33 AM

How fun, Amy! I watched the one at our local Hobby Lobby until it went that low - I'm thinking about having hubby put a finish on it, so it waits patiently in the box. Good for you!!

alaskasunshine 03-28-2010 10:44 AM

Good find for you!!! Woo Hoo!!!

I'll be in Texas again in June for a cancer check up and I hope my sweetie takes me to Hobby Lobby again. We don't have them here in Alaska!

amma 03-28-2010 11:32 AM

WooHoo!!! :D:D:D
I wish that we had them out here :(

MamaBear61 03-28-2010 11:38 AM

Wonderful find.

littlehud 03-28-2010 12:45 PM

What a wonderful find. Lucky you. In the right place at the right time.

roseOfsharon 03-28-2010 05:09 PM

Sounds the bargain of a lifetime :) You must hand quilt.

amy WI 03-28-2010 06:06 PM

I have a quilt started for my sister that i have been working on for 11 years. It has to be hand quilted so now I have an excuse to finish it. The frame will come in handy.

I moved from FL last year but while I lived there I found a Hobby Lobby store in Ocala. It was on RT 200. Almost behind JoAnns Fabric. I always found something fun to make, do or work on Such a fun store.

craftybear 03-28-2010 08:48 PM

Please post a picture so we can see your pretty!

Wine Woman 03-28-2010 08:50 PM

Don't you love those deals! When I find them I always feel more money to spend elsewhere.

maryb119 03-29-2010 04:56 AM

That is a great deal! We have a Hobby Lobby about 45 miles from here. I like the store.

Quilt Mom 03-29-2010 05:02 AM

What a great deal on your quilting frame! I hope it works out well for you.

Are you close to Jacksonville? We have Hobby Lobby.

Lady Crafter 03-29-2010 05:27 AM

I visit Hobby Lobby each time I visit NC where my daughter lives. I enjoy their different fabric selection and they have a wonderful crafting section! There isn't one close enough to me in upstate NY :(

Congrats on your GREAT find!

Aurora 03-29-2010 05:54 AM

I used to live five minutes from one, but now the closest one is 45 miles away. Get there occasionally, mostly when I do a liquor or pet food run. PetSmart is next door and the liquor store is in the next parking lot. Granted the pet food run (WalMart doesn't offer the flavors my mother's cat will eat)are far more frequent than my liquor runs -- just in case you were starting to worry about me. Fortuantely, they just voted a city in the next County wet, so I won't have to drive so far for my red wine. I digress -- sorry.

Ms Grace 03-29-2010 06:38 AM

wow!
That's a great find.
I love Hobby Lobby. :-)

Evelynquilts 03-29-2010 06:39 AM

nice find

Horsestitcher 03-30-2010 03:36 AM

I saw a Hobby Lobby somewhere in central Florida around Ocala, while we were stranded with our RV. Check on line to see where their stores are located. Good luck. I could spend my whole life in Hobby Lobby.

HIBISCUS 03-30-2010 05:02 AM

How far are you from Jacksonville? We have two Hobby Lobbys here; come and visit!!!

Wood? oh don't say "BREAK" it in! hahah have fun!

dphelps 03-30-2010 06:46 AM

dkabasketlady- There are Hobby Lobby's in Florida. Check out the site and click on Stores. It lists quite a few. Where do you live?

3699quilter 03-30-2010 07:17 AM

I've checked Hobby Lobby for fabric, but thought it was too expensive. Never thought about their clearance area - will have to check it out.
Also, My WalMart has clearance on fabric strips and they are stored/hiding under the cutting table so I will have to keep checking those too. I have a quilting rack from my sister, but have never had room enough to set it up. This may inspire me - thanks! And Congrats on the great find.

Your Walmart still has fabric ?? I'm jealous!

tarbender30 03-30-2010 10:45 AM

I found a light table there once. Regular price was $79.99 and I got it for, I think around $15.00. Yes, I too love Hobby Lobby.
CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

3699quilter 03-30-2010 01:47 PM

I guess I'll have to give Hobby Lobby another look for their bargains.

Shemjo 03-30-2010 02:28 PM

Be sure to check out the end caps around the outside perimeter of the Hobby Lobby store for the best deals!

MillieH 03-30-2010 03:54 PM

"We are getting a Hobby Lobby in Orlando just a note about it the other day. finally since all the wal-marts have stopped selling fabric."[/quote]

Maybe there is some good coming from Walmarts closing their fabric depts. I had noticed their fabric had been getting quite cheezy anyway.

zz-pd 03-30-2010 03:59 PM

I am happy for you. it is great when you find a buy like that. Penny

MillieH 03-30-2010 04:35 PM

Super find! I probably wouldn't have a big, whole quilt, frame (plus extension for king sized) yet if my MIL hadn't bought it for me for my b'day one year. Still--I prefer a big hoop that I can drag around with me wherever.

1screech 03-30-2010 05:00 PM

I live in Ocoee. Did you hear where the Hobby Lobby is going to be located. I used to travel a lot to Kansas City and I loved Hobby Lobby. Cannot wait for it to get here.
