I had looked today at Joann and Hobby Lobby for a sewing basket with a lid to keep scissors, pins, etc in but came up empty handed. Any ideas for good places online to look? I'd really like a new one, not used.

If you go to nextag and put in "sewing basket," they come up with the lowest price first. Nextag is a shopping website.

I Love the Janet Baskets and you can buy the lids extra, google Janet Baskets and see what you come up with. JoAnn's does have them online. I have one of the large and going to get two more.

I have the blue one pictured. And it's on sale!
http://www.joann.com/square-sewing-b...2-/xprd315899/ It has a tray inside, lots of room for spools of thread and a pin cushion on the inside of the lid. I love mine, especially when I hand sew in the living room. |

Not sure how much you want to spend but I love my reproduction shaker sewing box. I have had it for over 10 years and it is still going strong. I also have a pin cushion that is set in a round shaker box.

You made me go look, thank you. JoAnn's has the Janet Baskets' on sale 1/2 price and a free shipping coupon until Tuesday. I just ordered 4, I really love them. They are so easy to carry from one place to another.

I got mine from Hancock Fabrics. Might check their website.
