i have been using parchment paper - normaly used for baking - to paper piece. it is transparent enough to trace on and erases easily with an eraser - as im always making mistakes - Iv never used anything else so i dont know how it compares, but i can get 25 ft of it for 1.50 at the dollar so it wins on the affordability front!

You did a great job. I have used, used fabric dryer sheets. iron onto the shiney side of freezer paper cut to fit your printer 8 1/2 x 11 print pattern on it and it peels right off (freezer paper can be used a couple more times) sew your paper piecing right onto dryer sheet and it does not need to be removed. works great for me no paper to remove from your block

Those blocks are great! Isn't paper piecing fun!! I use Carol Doak's Foundation Paper. It is a lot easier to remove than the typing paper I started with. Here is a pic of my latest piece.

I am starting to love paper piecing. I made some PP Christmas cards this year and they impressed everyone. Easy too

I have just started PP and loving it. Those of you that use computer paper, please tell me how you manage to see the lines on the back. Maybe you only use non see through stuff when you are not following a pattern? Please advise. Bj

There's also a wonderful video on Youtube that I used to learn to paper piece. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8uaW26igygE This made more sense to me than anything else at the moment and when I decide to paper piece a project I still refer back to this one to get started. I just print off my pattern from my computer onto regular copy paper, shorten my stitch length so it's easier to remove the paper when finished and piece away. I think this method is one of my favorites because everything is lined up for you and the blocks come out beautiful! By the way....your blocks are gorgeous and love the bright colors. :)
