This is a beautiful quilt and I like it just as it is.
|
I think the quilt is beautiful. My daughter's favorite color is pink. She would go crazy for this quilt. I don't have any suggestions for how to quilt it.
|
I like just as it is. Very pretty.

I don't think it's ugly. I do agree that the pink should have been darker/brighter but the quilt certainly isn't ugly!

Listen, it's almost done, so just keep going!! It may not be your favorite, but it's going to be the belle of the ball when it's quilted. Just wait and see...Cinderella wasn't beautiful before she got dressed for the ball. Give this little quilt lady a chance! Why does everything need to "pop" anyway? Just MHO. :-)

Everyone has offered great suggestions, but.....IMHO I think it's a beautiful quilt. Also IMHO, I don't think all quilts should POP. I love the two pinks. As I said before, it's all in the eye of the beholder. I think you did a good job.

It's a fine quilt. I agree with others who suggested a dark pink quilting pattern in the sashing. Perhaps try a leaf or vine pattern. Then, a floral in the blocks in white. Another possibility is a pantograph in a dusty green (to complement the leaves in the dark floral fabric).

Don't you just love how people post a perfectly acceptable quilt and say it's ugly!? ( like people say they're fat, just so others say "oh, no, you're just fine!") There was a post a while back about truly ugly quilts and this isn't even close to the running. That being said, it looks like you grabbed the sashing for a pastel quilt and put it together with the graphic D4P. The blocks are graphic and impactful, the sashing is pretty and soft, but the two elements don't complement each other. Several people have suggested bold quilting, and I'm adding a suggestion for a few well placed appliqués, perhaps in a bright, bright pink, to try and balance out the soft pink of the sashing. I've had lots of quilts that look perfectly fine in my head, and even on the cutting table and sewing machine, but once I put them on a wall or bed and stood back to look - not working! I wouldn't give up on it - I think it has lots of potential!

I like it as is. Quilt it and donate it to a worthy cause. It will be out of your house and make someone a happy person.... Hugs

It is really pretty as is.. If you can find a dark pink to add a narrow outer border and turn to the back, that might provide the frame you need to like it better. I love it as it is. Quilting? I agree that since it is mostly squarish, I would find a way to incorporate curves into the top. Good luck and repost when you have finished.
