Flannel wears way faster and it is bulky. I do not like it. If at all possible, if you want to stick with flannel, roll the back to the front or the front to the back.

When I used flannel for binding, it was fine when I hand sewed it, but when I machine sewed it I found struggled with it due to it being thicker than regular fabric.

However, it's entirely possible that the same thing could have happened if I'd used standard quilting cotton for binding. It's a sad problem, isn't it, to have a quilt so loved and used that you have to replace the binding? :D

I couldn't find my sarcasm font. ;)

I like flannel as binding on a flannel backed quilt. I haven't found it wears excessively. I did use binding strips of 2 1/2 inches, and I joined them on the diagonal to lessen bulk at the seams.
