These sacks that I found felt really nice, but I suppose that could have had something to do with the flour in them...

Mom said "cloth" or "material".... :)

Donate the flour to a food bank??? if they transfered it to ziplock bags...then you can take home the good fabric bag.

It's kind of fun to know that it's out there in fabric packaging, but I'm like many others and have changed to using whole grain flours etc as the white flour is just plain bad for you. Too bad. I'd sure like to have my cracked wheat, barley, oats etc packaged up in fabric. I'd probably feel like I was getting a little more for my money which is I something I haven't felt in quite a long while.

I would have bought one. Just so I could say I did. LOL.

When my grandmother died I didn't have much money to spend a the estate auction. What I wanted was her sewing machine but what I ended up with were the only toys she kept for us. They were printed on flour sacks. I think there were three. I only have one. I am pretty sure I gave the others to my sisters. I hope this isn't too much of thread hi-jack to share it with you.

I can tell you that in the late 60s when I was a small child this little guy ran a million miles on the floor of my grandparents' house and then slept with me most nights I was there.

I use enough flour that if I find it in sacks like that I am going to buy 50lbs or so!

Oh Mary! That's not a hijack at all!! What a wonderful story, and what memories you must have attached to that toy!

I didn't know they printed anything on the sacks like toys...thanks for sharing that! :)

Now that I think about it, I am pretty sure they were printed on feed sacks. Probably chicken feed.
