A lady who's a great quilter suggested I get one of these teflon like sheets? I think it somehow sticks to the machine bed and table and makes a large, smooth slick surface to FMQ? (There must be some sort of hole for the needle to pass though...)

Anybody use something like this? What's it called? What brand/type/style would you recommend? How does it stick? I mean... I have a horiz. drop in bobbin... so I'd need to change out the bobbin on occasion....

??? Thanks!

Google Supreme Slider. Yes you can make your own out of a teflon sheet, but I love my Slider. It's thin and perfect. You just remove it to change bobbins.

I use the Supreme Slider, too. Didn't think I'd really need it but now I've tried it I love it.

Many here swear by these, but your machine does need to be set into a table/cabinet for it to work  :D:D:D

You can also buy one of those over liners that everyone talks about. I finally found one at Bed Bath and Beyond for about $10. The Super Slider is about $28 or something at your local quilt store. Haven't tried it yet but I can always use it in the oven to catch spills if I don't like it on the machine.
Also someone suggested that you cut out an area for sewing and fasten the liner over the bed of the machine with some sort of tape (??) You can probably find more info on this board if you search "super slider" on here.

Bearing in mind what amma said, I have one and it has made all the difference to my FMQ. I don't even use my gloves anymore. I'd highly recommend it, if you have the set in table. :-D

I bought one at my lqs and it was 28.00 on sale for around 19. But its not very big. It works ok but not very big for what you pay for it. HAve heard of using the oven liners you can get them at the Christmas tree Shop for $5.00 but haven,t heard how they work. You must have to tape them down so they won't slip around. If they work it would be slick because you could cut it any size you want. You have to cut a small hole for your needle.
