I have done that on purpose just to add something extra to my quilts. Very nice

grammysharon 05-19-2011 06:06 AM

I had to look hard to find it! It's beautiful and will be loved

4 cats 05-19-2011 06:09 AM

what mistake?

almostfree 05-19-2011 06:09 AM

Had to look for a while before I even found it! Looks great to me!

Aimeesews 05-19-2011 06:11 AM

I also had to look , my current quilt has a error , im going with " its amish tradition " to anyone who notices ;-)

Becka 05-19-2011 06:25 AM

I love this pattern, and haven't seen it before. Is it your design?

My quilter buddy here at work always assures me that if it's perfect, it isn't handmade!

I sew like the Amish all the time - so I tell people. That is just to admit I know I have mistakes in things. You made a beautiful quilt! I love it!

Bergereink 05-19-2011 07:14 AM

I finally see it. Not to worry, it's fine. The God's eye thing though is a myth. Passed on so many times that it has become a "truth."

ladydi64 05-19-2011 07:16 AM

See you sooo worried for nothing.

ShirlinAZ 05-19-2011 07:21 AM

It's a beautiful quilt. I love the way you personalized it!

leiladylei54 05-19-2011 07:26 AM

If you hadn't said anything, I wouldn't have been searching for the mistake. Regardless, it's a beautiful quilt. If anyone says you made a mistake, say it was intentional so that it was distinctively YOURS. LOL

I had to really look to find it, but, looks good to me anyways, I never think of things like this as a "mistake", to me it was meant to be that way....your quilt is beautiful.

Blue's quilting mama 05-19-2011 08:21 AM

So happy it all turned out fine....it took me a couple of times looking to find it....they love it, and they will think you intended the rows to be that way!

I had to look twice....and I knew there was supposed to be mistake...I would just tell them I was trying to keep everyone on their toes. Its a beautiful quilt,

This may be more info than you wanted. Started out to be a chevron design but when reading all the messages it shouted "love" to me. Therefore, I changed it to X and O and it was quilted with hearts so I guess it was my own design. The size is 60 x 90. The finished sizes are: 3" sig, 6" block (4 sigs), sashing and inner border 1 1/2" and outer border 6". They said last night they want to hang it - sooooo it will be on display for everyone to see.

Doreen 05-19-2011 11:17 AM

I didn't see the original posting but really.....there are no quilting police and you did a great job! Don't be so hard on yourself!

wraez 05-19-2011 11:49 AM

It STILL took me awhile to find the error even tho I remembered it from the last posting about it.

Definitely, never point out any errors to a recipient or make apologies. Most likely they would never notice. And if they do, say 'oh I meant to make it that way and if you would notice' or something like that.

It's awesome. I love the colors, too.

No one would ever know there is a mistake unless you tell them. A pattern is however you want it to be. I kinda like it your way better!

RAChhap 05-19-2011 01:46 PM

Turned out really nice. I'm sure it drew lots of ohhs and ahhs!

cr12cats 05-19-2011 02:18 PM

great quilt.really had to look to see but just reminded me of the old poster that stated there is one in every crowd with a bird looking the wrong way.wish my errs were so hard to tell. gosh, last night was a sew rip rip rip sew rip night.omg

KathyKat 05-19-2011 04:11 PM

I'm glad they didn't notice, as the members of this board predicted. Always what comes through is the generosity and caring of each one of us that makes the quilts.

Sandra in Minnesota 05-19-2011 06:18 PM

Put it on a bed, and I bet nobody will even notice. Nice job.

sewhat540 05-21-2011 05:11 AM

I like this a lot. Good job... Ok wait, you say there was a mistake........I don't see it. Enjoy and keep on quilting

sewhat540 05-21-2011 05:15 AM

Ok, went back to really look, hmmmm, ok, well, let's think about this. I think it is great and the one you are giving it too will know it is special for them. So keep on quilting and don't worry about mistakes. I have a friend that likes to point things out.....well, now that she is quilting or learning too she has found out that she is not so perfect either. Have a great day.

loves_2_quilt 05-21-2011 05:20 AM

Looks good to me, I had to really look to see your "mistake".

Mistakes are just what make projects unique.
