I got my Janome 6600 yesterday and unpacked her today. Should I purchase the open toe walking foot for piecing and quilting or do you use the dual feed foot that came with the machine? TIA

I have the 6600 and love it. I use the quarter inch dual feed foot for piecing and get accurate seams all the time and beautiful stitching.

I have the reg. walking foot and the 1/4" one. The benefit of the open toe is its easier to see where you're sewing if you are following a certain pattern, but this also can be accomplish with the reg. one also. Its a preference thing! :-D

I would use the one that came with the machine.

I have the Janome 6500 (the machine before yours) and mine came with the walking foot and it's really only the one I use. I do use the darning now and then but not as much.

I have a Janome 6600 and use just the 1/4" foot to get the most accuracy for piecing.

Someone asked this on a group I'm on and most people loved the open toe accufeed foot. Not so much for piecing but for quilting, especially SITD. I have it but haven't done any quilting on this machine yet.
