with the hubby!! A friends DH told me that he thought there is a fabric shop down town. He was looking for a restaurant and saw bolts of fabric on the window.
So while I was out today I went on the hunt for it and found it. It is a small shop that sells an assortment of items like clothing. DH went into the music store and I went in the fabric shop. They have some really great prices from $1.99 for the cheap stuff to $6.99 for the good stuff. I found some for $2.99 and $3.99 that were really nice. I bought 3 yards of 3 different prints and paid $11.00. The cashier took a dollar off each yard and gave me about 6in extra on each yard.

If you are in the Murray, Ky. area and want to visit them they are called (I forgot the name!!!) anyway there is a sign outside the building that says OLDE WORLD MARKETPLACE. It is on main street across from Regions bank.

Here is my haul!!!

We are looking for an inexpensive acustic guitar for our 15 yr. old son. They had 1 for $125.00 but DH thinks he can find it cheaper.

QuiltingGrannie 02-16-2011 12:39 PM

Nice find!
It's been so many years since I've been to Murray, KY. (1992 or 1993 maybe?)

Grama Lehr 02-16-2011 12:39 PM

check craigs list in your area...they can be found cheaper....but that's not a bad price. My DH does setup and minor repairs.

moonwork42029 02-16-2011 01:19 PM

MMMM... might have to take a road trip at lunch!

Jim 02-16-2011 01:26 PM

I went to Murray State University...haven't been there since I left ..so many yrs ago..I plan to try to attend the quilt show in Paducah in April. I might have to drive through just for memories sake..congrats on the nice priced fabrics..and I too think you can get a guitar cheaper than that..try looking on Craigslist or even posting on CL that you are looking for one

It won't take you long to get here.

sewmuchmore 02-16-2011 01:46 PM

Great buy! Think of the saving you get each time to buy fabric. Start looking for hiding places NOW!

Aunt Retta 02-16-2011 01:51 PM

Oh wow, I love that dark blue with white daisies!

SherriB 02-16-2011 01:51 PM

I have some of the same guitar fabric, but I paid more than you did. Sigh. I may just have to find a way to visit KY. Is Murray anywhere near the Viginia border? We used to go through Pineville, Middleborough (sp) and Corbin to when we went to visit family in Ohio.

Charming 02-16-2011 01:54 PM

Try overstock.com or musiciansfriend.com they both have good prices and a lot of times offer free shipping. I get form both places for my kids. My son plays both acoustic and electric guitar and my daughter plays piano and drums, and i have ear plugs on most of the times :D

I will have to check that one out. Have you been to the little fabric shop on Hwy. 95 off of 68 going toward Paducah? It is right down from North Marshall Junior High School. She has some good prices, also.

sewingsuz 02-16-2011 05:33 PM

Not yet but I plan too!! I also found a shop out off the 121 north between here and Mayfield but haven't been to it yet.
