I hide my good Ginghers and purchase cheap utility scissors at Ben Franklin which I leave lying around for folks to find and use. My kids learned early on NOT to touch my sewing machines or my scissors. (Hubby too.)

My family has been informed as to which scissors they can use, my fabric/sewing scissors are off limits, I keep many pairs available to them for other uses, do not touch my scissors

Many years ago I bought a nice pair of shears that are branded Weiss. I really like them and they are so old now. I have a hard time passing up a new pair of little scissors. I love the little ones.

A quilter can never have too many scissors. I have many pair and seem to use them all.

I have about 5 pairs of scissors, one pair of Singers that cuts 15 layers easily and one pair of Ginghers. Well last year I had to hide my Ginghers from the grandkids....till this day I've still yet to remember where I hid them!! Now I say don't mess with Nanas stuff!! Any of my sewing items, my jewelry desinging items or my work desk are danger zones!! Ha!

Thread Thread Wonderful Thread

I have been playing with free motion quilting and have had lots of fun with it. But the thread is so expensive. This weekend I went to a yard sale and found a full box of radiant threads for $35 dollars. That is 240 spools of decorative threads. I am still so excited. It usually costs me that much to do one quilt. Yeah hoo!!
