I would love to use fabric foundation, how do you print on the fabric? Thanks.

I am totally addicted to paper piecing. Luckily for me, I'm in the architecture field so drafting patterns is pretty easy. Plus I have a big plotter/printer so I can print up a variety of sizes up to 36"x24". I am making a quilt border right now that is using a "Circle of Geese" pattern in such a way as to end up being a wavy line. Two sides of the quilt needed blocks that were 3.5" x 7". The other two sides needed blocks that were 3.5" x 7.123". It was a cinch using AutoCAD and my plotter. If I can help someone with changing proportions on a block, just let me know.

I didn't print on the fabric but you can if you back it first with freezer paper to run through your printer. Or you could draw on it too. I just took a scrap for the center & made it 5 sided. Then started adding in a clockwise direction.

I too have taken a crazy quilt class froma friend. It turned ot really nice am now in process of making somemore. I'm using musling for a backing.

Nice work, flying geese are real easy that way and always perfect. I was afraid of PP'ing at first buy now it is a breese....go ahead all try it. You will like it after you get used to it.

Super job! Glad I'm not the only one who got bitten by the paper piecing bug this year. Keep it up. I haunt our local library for quilting books on paper piecing. Lots of information there. Enjoy!!!

I do crazy quilt piecing on muslin foundation blocks. Cut the block the size you want it to be - then start with either a 3 sided or 5 sided center and just start adding strips all around (sorta like log cabin to put together) and there you have it. The sides will be ragged but you just turn the block over and rotary trim to the muslin size. Or if you have some ugly fabric you could use this for the foundation blocks or even old sheets. I use stitch in the ditch for quilting. The extra foundation material makes the quilt heavier than one without - sometimes I just put a backing on it and sometimes I use a thin batting. It's a good way to use up scraps.
