My WM has them for $9 too!! I bought one of each that they had (7) and am waiting to see if it goes down further. I got two FQ at a quarter each but the rest weren't on sale. Don't you just love it when you get fabric on sale

The nearest town to me only had fabric at Wal Mart. When it started disappearing at the larger stores there was a loud outcry to our small country store to not discontinue it. They promised that it would stay. A few months later they remodeled and filled most of the store with beer, wine and pop. No fabric. I am weaning myself from Wal Mart. There food is all going generic also - yuk!

Our Walmart quit carrying fabric and now they have a huge electronic department.

Mine sells FQs and jelly rolls but the clerk told me that they are going to take fabric out in the spring when they revamp the store. On to the internet.

They are actually increasing your WM's fabric dept?

Yes when mom started telling me they were moving fabric
around I about went into fits. I said they better not close our fabric department. She and so did the ladies at the store informed me no not closing actually we are making room for more. As much money as I spend in there they better keep it. I just wish they had more notions.

We just lost our fabric at Walmart. I went in one day and it was all but gone. That fast. Said they are remodeling the store. I'd rather have the fabric!

When they were originally going to get rid of the fabric at our Wal-mart a couple of years ago, a bunch of us bombarded the Wal-mart website "contact us" with protests and ours still has fabric with a good variety and mostly of fairly good quality. The lady I talked to in the fabric department about the FQs and jelly rolls said they just didn't sell here and made some sort of comment about our folks here aren't too lazy to cut up their own fabric! Which given that the original prices on the jelly rolls was $19.97 that made them more expensive than regular fabric, so of course most people here weren't going to buy them...this is an area where the economy has been pretty hard hit in the past few years...mostly farming and what little industry there is keeps either going belly up or moving to some other country...then when we do get something new they don't pay more than minimum wage.

Our Walmart had some fat quarters, some were nice. Never was restocked & what is left is worse than junk. No jelly rolls either.

I noticed that about the food also. I agree "yuk"

I am sorry that WalMart feels that removing the fabric from the stores when they remodel is a GOOD idea. I think that there are still are alot of us out there who love fabric... and choose to shop where we can browse through the fabric... The WalMart in one direction still HAS fabric, and the other direction, the fabric is long gone...I'll bet Hancock is celebrating, as we no longer have JoAnns.
