This is why I love the Quilting Board = such good information that is shared.
Great to know about rubbing alcohol and Fray Check. Also great to learn about Fabric Block and Sew Secure. Will have to check them out. Great tip on applying Fabric Block to curves on applique. And the best tip - thimblefuls of that other alcohol to celebrate problems being solved!! |
I use Fray Check but it does have its own problems. When I use Fray Block, it just pours out of the tube and gets everywhere. I tried just poking a hole in the top, but that didn't help.

Here's a link to the newer Fray Block that brushes on:

Is the name Sew Secure correct? I can't find any info about this product, past or present.

I use Fray Check, but squeeze some out on scrap paper and then apply with a toothpick. This has worked well for me and I haven't seen any discoloration.

Fray check dries in a gob and dis colors the edges....it can be reversed! Use a dab of rubbing alcohol and it's gone! After finding this out,I had a thimbleful of the other alcohol to celebrate saving a quilt.
