Here is a free Bargello Pattern called Savannah if anyone wants to download it.

http://www.clothworks.com/pattern_download.asp?ID=221

I did. I want to make this using black and whites. I think it would be really pretty.

irishrose 03-31-2011 09:24 AM

Looks like it would be a good starter. I look at the ones in my book and get overwhelmed.

TonnieLoree 03-31-2011 09:28 AM

That is beautiful. NOW I NEED TO GO BUY FABRIC again! It's just a bit different from the Bargello's I have made in the past. This looks very simplistic, yet stunning. Thanks for the link.

BeeNana 03-31-2011 09:32 AM

Thanks
A good size at 55 x 70
Airwick, would you also throw in another bright color?

Sorry I haven't a clue if I would or not. I can't match colors very well because of my vision.
I haven't ever made one of these, but I think I am going to really attempt it. It doesnt seem to use much fabric either.

Tinabodina 03-31-2011 10:21 AM

Thank you so much for the link.

It would be gorgeous in black and white, but I would throw in a different accent color for the darkest color. A lot of people use red, but any bright color would be great.

thanks

so-sew 04-01-2011 05:07 AM

Thanks for the free pattern lead. I love it. I do have a question about what makes a bargello a bargello, however. All the pieces in this quilt seem to be the same dimension, but the overall pattern of the quilt is the classic bargello. Does a true bargello require varying width strips in both directions? Or is it the design of the final product? Can't wait to hear the verdict. :-)

kayutanurse 04-01-2011 05:20 AM

Thank you very much for the link I've always wanted to make a bargello quilt and this pattern makes it seem easier. I'd love to make one in shades of turquoise. It's my 90 yr old mother's favorite color and it would be perfect for her bed!

This site has some really awesome patterns. I can't wait to make some of them.

Ida 04-01-2011 05:30 AM

Here's one I think I might be able to do! Thank you so much for the post.

jackifaller 04-01-2011 06:36 AM

Thanks for the pattern, which I printed. There are three rows that are NOT marked with a letter - any idea on them?

I am just tying my bargello quilt. I have made a basic 5"inch square. I had my DH set this pattern up for me. I used 12 colors, but, it can be adjusted. This quilt is a queen size, made a little longer.

remareis 04-01-2011 07:06 AM

lauriequilts 04-01-2011 07:13 AM

nanquilt 04-01-2011 07:23 AM

Thank you. This looks like an easy one to make and I love the look of Bargello designs.

IBQUILTIN 04-01-2011 07:27 AM

Thanx for the link, and black and white should really be nice for that one

Gatormom3 04-01-2011 07:53 AM

Airwick 156 - many thanks for posting the link and thanks, too, to Eagar Beez for posting your pattern. One day I may get the nerve to try one of these!
