Free Pin
Ok now that I have your attention. I would like to know if it is possible to create a pin or something similar that would distinguish us as QB members when we are out at a quilting event. I don't know exactly how to do this, but I'm sure the creative group here could help. What do you all think?
 Sounds like a great idea. Now if someone can design it. I'm not the one to do it; I have enough trouble following a pattern. :)
Great idea...I will be glad to own one...Do you have any ideas about what you would like it to be? It must be sortta easy for the newbies like me but distinctive that it is instantly recognizable.
We had them in little league. They were called lapel pins, but I don't know to design them or purchase them. I don't even know if QB would let us to it. I have pins form different quilting organization and hops and thought it would be great if we had something to represent us.

We do have a membership card...

Never new the card existed. Maybe we could print it off and laminate it or just quilt the design to a pin
I'm glad to know about this. I proudly printed mine. Thanks!
I wonder if the shops that have %-off discounts for Guild Members would honour that? :)
Won't hurt to ask. The worst they could do is say no
What a beautiful and unique block. That would make a lovely lapel pin. I would buy one!!
At the Quilt Festivals and Markets there is a booth that sells pins for different guilds, quilt stores etc. They can make your pins to your requirements for what ever you need. Don't know the price but you could check with them. Think they are called The Pin Peddlers.

I would love to have a pin. I was at the Cincinnati show today and kept wondering if anyone was a QB member.

I saved my card :) Now I can print it when I log onto one of our other computers.
I think a large purple "Q" with a pretty BEE on the end of it would be darling!
OR why not use the block on the guild card, but leave the center muslin so we write our name it?
I didn't know about this either. Just printed it out... Thanks! Also, love the block and I just may make a quilt from it!
make it from cotton about 6 or 8 inches and wear it pinned on to shows????

I'm all the time asking people I see in quilt shops if they belong to the board. I then explain what it is and give them the web site. Would be nice to be able to recognize with a lapel pin or something.
I printed off my 'membership' card and am going to try to make a block from the picturer. Shouldn't be too hard. If I can accomplish that, then I should be able to reduce the size down to something smaller to put on our blouses. Might be able to post the pattern (of sorths, anyway) I'll keep everyone informed - but I am leaving for a quilt show in Slidell, LA on Wednesday, so this will be put on hold until next week when I return. Have 3 quilts entered, hope I come home with a 'warm fuzzy' from one of them!!
It would be nice to have a lapel pin. Most people I mention the QB to aren't members and then when I try to explain it to them, their next comment is, 'oh, I don't need anymore computer stuff'. I just shrug my shoulders and realize they just don't know what they are missing. LOL
Didn't know about the card That would have been so much easier to print off and wear to the quilt show. I ended up making a tag I wore around my neck. Didn't see any one else though. And I know with my eyesight I wouldn't see a lapel pin. lol But it is a great idea. I use to have a bunch of pins but they were dumped at a thrift store when I moved years ago ..
could someone design a little 2x2 or 1x1 block to make into a pin....I have one on my guild shirt a friend gave me and its really cute and tiny...
OK so this little quilt block wouldn't be that hard to piece and if you embroidered the letter Q B in the center would that work. Our guild did this with out logo and most of us just used a large safety pin sewn on to the back to attach it.
Thank you ghostrider for link to card... didn't know we had one... printed one out wallet size...
I think the quilt pin idea sounds good. It could be as simple as 2 or 3 colors of ribbons tacked together and a little cardboard circle with QB on it. Something like that would be enough so we could recognize other board members.
what about a tiny quilt with a bee on it as we are all bee's wether it is busy bee quilt bee ore newbee's?
My Mom just got me a charm on a necklace chain - the charm contains a fabric square - log cabin - you can put any small block in them for personalizing.
I'm with you gramajo, I can barely follow a pattern, much less design something. I would love to have a pin to wear to shows or traveling.

One of the local quilting guilds has a cute lapel pin that looks like a quilt square.
I would LOVE to wear a pin that says Quilting Board Member or anything similar.
I wasn't aware that we had membership card. Thanks for the info.
I would like the directions and measurements for the lovely quilt square on the membership card.
I also didn't know thee was a card, and printed one off. Now to get it laminated so it will last in my billfold. I also would love to have a QB pin. I think that would be a neat idea. I'll watch and see what happens here. Thanks for the idea!

Keep this idea going. Someone will know how to make a lapel pin. We could charge the price of the pin and a bit more to donate the proceeds to a non profit.
it's best if each person makes their own. i used iron on sequin letters to put the board name on the back of a t-shirt once. i'd still have it if i had spelled it correctly! LOL LOL LOL |
Fantastic; now I feel "official."

Sorry to be a buzzkill but you couldn't do that without permission from the company that hosts us. There'd be all sorts of legal issues involved - including trademark and copyrights.
