Maybe it needs constant use to stay useable. He says there are two finger shaped pieces that have to line up to work.

Hi Gay, thank you for the tip, I just tried it both with the presser foot up and then down. Not budging. Sheesh, I don't know what the heck happened.

With you machine being under warranty you may not want to open it up at all. It would be worth the $$ to send it to an authorized dealer . I have mailed out 2 different times Brother's machines to TX from my home in SE Michigan and had to pay the postage to get it there but not the postage for the return. Of course the repair did not cost anything. Call an authorized dealer explain the problem and do what it takes to get it fixed. It will be worth your time and $$. Don't void your warranty.

I don't have a lever to lower or raise the feed dogs. Mine has a selection knob next to the reverse lever.

: So I decided to just bring the machine to a gentleman in my neighborhood who I found out fixes industrial machines. It turns out the whole Feed Dog Lever assembly had fallen apart. He feels it wasn't properly assembled when the machine had been manufactured. He repaired that, then went over the whole machine for me, and did general maintenance. Only $75 and I have my machine back after only two days! I'm so glad I didn't have to go through the hassle of shipping it out. Thank you everyone for your kind suggestions[img]images/smilies/heart.gif[/img]
