That's such a shame that your hard work hasn't been appreciated. I think its possible that your children don't realise how much they've hurt your feelings and probably don't realise how much hard work goes into making a quilt. I'd lay it past till I felt more positive about it.

I am perhaps in a similar situation in that I had two grandsons who were to graduate from High school last year. One did and I gave him a quilt that was very masculine and mostly blacks, grays, and a little red. He said he liked it and it went into immediate use. The second boy did not graduate and is not being diligent about completing his HS degree this year. I am sad that he doesn't seem to understand that life is mostly what you put into it. As for the quilt (which is nearly finished) I will keep it for now. But should I choose to give it someone else I will not change it-it is as I planned and made it and will be that way.

I sure wish we could just click a :thumbup: on this post - there'd probably be a million of them!

Finish it the way you want to finish it and give it to someone who will truly appreciate it.

First of quilt board ladies and gents, I'm proud of you all from refraining from using bad words. I include myself in this by the way!! Just make your quilt the way you want. Finish it and then decide what you want to do with it. Never push a quilt on anyone, especially if their not quilt worthy. Mine seem to find their way to the right people. Lookng forward to seeing your quilt!!

I love black, white and red French Braids and butterfly's are so wonderful, they symbolize metamorphasis. I will gladly take this quilt made with love and say thank-you and be gracious. Either way enjoy making this quilt if it please's you, lot's of love sent your way.

Take care of yourself and enjoy what you like. I think enough family members have already disappointed you in trying to please them and it is time to move on to please yourself.
