I would venture to say the girl that waited on you was probably freshly out of high school, maybe still in high school. I think age plays a big part in knowledge. One day...she may realize how silly she sounded when she thinks back to a lady along time ago who came in and bought walnut shells for pincushions. LOLOLOL

It sure is funny what some young people think these days when we mention someting so foreign as a pincushion.

I was at Pier I and I asked the girl, "where are the napkins with the rick rack on the edges?" No clue what I was talking about. But she's know the difference between an i pad and i pod and I don't.

I laughed at your story. I too have a 10 lb. bag of crushed walnut shells, I also bought to fill pincushions. When I asked for it at Petsmart, the gal was puzzled when I asked if they had any smaller bags. I told her what I was using it for and she looked very surprised. I was thinking she thought I was nuts to make my own pincushions. Now I'm wondering if she knows what a pincushion is?

Oh, dear! Maybe it is just something that happens at PetSmart.

Eeeew! I think I would have told him I'd like my money back.

What do you use to fill pin cushions that won't dull needles?
