With my 6600 I always recheck my threading when I've got thread breaking. Sometimes you're missing a threading point and don't realize or your thread has come out of the tension disks. It's an easy thing to check, along with the bobbin, and it might save you a trip.

I am using heatnbond lite. Called the company which didn't help. I am using a top stitch needle, which is new. The thing is I have used this product before in projects, so it is weird that this is happening. I wonder if I could soak the block, then take some of the glue off and repress it. I have 35 beautiful flower square blocks done.

If it is Heat and Bond light it should sew okay. Is the fabric regular cotton or Batiks? Batiks are denser and I have had problems machine stitching through them. I don't know if carefully hand washing would help or not but be careful it doesn't fray the appliqué edges up. You could try a different thread and needle and if all else fails, it may be an opportunity to try your hand at hand blanket stitch. Hand blanket stitch is more work but the blocks will be beautiful. OK, here is how I solved the problem. My friend cleaned my needle with an alcohol swab and said that nail polish remover would clean the needle too. So....I thought that nail polish remover on the thread would stop it from grabbing the glue. I put a swab dipped in the remover just above where the thread goes into the needle. I have had a slow haul of doing the blocks, but twenty five are done....I almost have no more remover, but it worked, with wiping the needle every few minutes. I just could not throw this work out, so am persevering then will have the machine serviced! But thanks everyone for your great responses!

thanks for suggestion on the jeans needle though. and it is all 100% cotton.
